They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them,“ Do not do as they do.”

They refused to obey his rules. They broke the covenant he had made with them. They didn’t pay any attention to the rules he had warned them to keep. They worshiped worthless statues of gods. Then they themselves became worthless. They followed the example of the nations around them. They did it even though the Lord had ordered them not to. He had said,“ Do not do as they do.”

They despised his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers and the warnings that he gave them. They went after false idols and became false, and they followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom the Lord had commanded them that they should not do like them.

They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and they despised all his warnings. They worshiped worthless idols, so they became worthless themselves. They followed the example of the nations around them, disobeying the Lord’s command not to imitate them.

They rejected his rules, the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and the laws he had commanded them to obey. They paid allegiance to worthless idols, and so became worthless to the LORD. They copied the practices of the surrounding nations in blatant disregard of the LORD’s command.

那時你要謹慎，在他們從你面前被除滅之後，你不可受引誘隨從他們，也不可求問他們的神明，說：『這些國家怎樣事奉他們的神明，我也要照樣做。』你不可向耶和華－你的神這樣做，因為他們向他們的神明做了耶和華所憎恨、所厭惡的一切事，甚至將自己的兒女用火焚燒，獻給他們的神明。

他們以那不是神的激起我妒忌，以虛無的神明惹我發怒。我要以不成國的激起你們嫉妒，我要以愚頑的國惹起你們發怒。

因為，他們雖然知道神，卻不把他當作神榮耀他，也不感謝他。他們的思想變為虛妄，無知的心昏暗了。他們自以為聰明，反成了愚昧，將不能朽壞之神的榮耀變為偶像，仿照必朽壞的人、飛禽、走獸、爬蟲的形像。

耶和華如此說：「你們的祖先看我有甚麼錯處，竟遠離我，隨從那虛無的神明，自己成為虛無呢？

智慧人慚愧，驚惶，被擒拿；看哪，他們背棄耶和華的話，還會有甚麼智慧呢？

這是因為巴沙和他兒子以拉的一切罪，就是他們使以色列陷入罪裏的那罪，以虛無的神明惹耶和華－以色列的神發怒。

摩西將血的一半盛在盆中，另一半灑在壇上。然後，他拿起約書來，念給百姓聽。他們說：「耶和華所吩咐的一切，我們都必遵行，也必聽從。」摩西把血灑在百姓身上，說：「看哪！這是立約的血，是耶和華按照這一切的命令和你們立約的憑據。」

我一再差遣我的僕人眾先知去，說：你們切不可行我所厭惡這可憎之事。

在各丘壇上燒香，效法耶和華在他們面前趕出的外邦人所行的，又行惡事，惹耶和華發怒。他們事奉偶像，耶和華對他們說：「你們不可做這事。」

偶像都是虛無的，是迷惑人的作品，到受罰的時刻必被除滅。

不可偏離去隨從那沒有益處、不能救人的虛無的神明，因為它們是虛無的。

關於吃祭過偶像的食物，我們知道「偶像在世上算不得甚麼」；也知道「神只有一位，沒有別的」。

這約不像我拉着他們祖宗的手，領他們出埃及地的時候與他們所立的約。我雖作他們的丈夫，他們卻背了我的約。這是耶和華說的。

你警戒他們，要使他們歸順你的律法。他們卻行事狂傲，不聽從你的誡命，干犯你的典章，人若遵行就必因此存活。他們頑梗地扭轉肩頭，硬着頸項，不肯聽從。但你多年寬容他們，又以你的靈藉眾先知勸戒他們，他們仍不側耳而聽，所以你將他們交在列邦民族的手中。

甚至我們的仇敵都承認，他們的磐石不如我們的磐石。

「今日你們全都要站在耶和華－你們的神面前，就是各領袖、族長、長老、官長、以色列所有的男子、你們的妻子兒女、你營中寄居的，從為你砍柴到為你挑水的人，為要使你進入耶和華－你神的約，就是耶和華－你神今日向你起誓所立的；這樣，他今日要立你作他的子民，他作你的神，是照他向你所應許的，又照他向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所起的誓。我不單單與你們立這約，起這誓，就是今日與我們一同站在耶和華－我們神面前的，而且也包括今日不在我們這裏的人。

你們燒香，得罪耶和華，不聽耶和華的話，不遵行他的律法、條例、法度，所以你們遭遇這災禍，正如今日一樣。」

「『然而，他們不順從，竟背叛你，將你的律法丟在背後，又殺害那些勸他們回轉歸向你的眾先知，犯了褻瀆的大罪。

造它們的要像它們一樣，凡靠它們的也必如此。

隨從耶和華在以色列人面前所趕出外邦人的風俗和以色列諸王所立的規條。

要謹慎遵守耶和華－你們神的誡命，和他所吩咐的法度、律例。耶和華眼中看為正直和美善的事，你都要遵行，使你得福，可以進去得耶和華向你列祖起誓應許的美地，

他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，效法耶和華在以色列人面前趕出的列國那些可憎的事。

瑪拿西引誘猶大和耶路撒冷的居民行惡，比耶和華在以色列人面前所滅的列國更嚴重。

他們如同畜牲，盡都愚昧。偶像的訓誨算甚麼呢？偶像不過是木頭，

耶和華－他們列祖的神因為愛惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他們。他們卻嘲笑神的使者，藐視他的話，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華向他的百姓大發烈怒，甚至無法可救。

人必說：『這是因為這地的人離棄了耶和華－他們列祖的神領他們出埃及地的時候與他們所立的約，去事奉別神，敬拜他們所不認識的神明，這是耶和華未曾允許的。

耶穌又說：「現在舀出來，送給宴會總管。」他們就送了去。
