餘民、祭司、利未人、司閽者、謳歌者、殿中奔走者、與異邦人絕交、從上帝律例者、各偕妻孥、有知識之童子、從同宗世職、發誓立盟、必遵從上帝僕摩西所傳之律例、守我上帝耶和華誡命、禮儀法度、

居上位者、眾宜服之、非上帝則無居位者、凡居位者、皆上帝所命、與居位者敵、是為逆上帝命、逆者必受罪、有司不令善人畏、使惡人畏、爾欲不畏居位者、惟行善、可得其褒、居位者、上帝僕也、原以益爾、行惡宜畏之、以其為上帝僕、柄不徒操、刑加作惡之人、此其所以當服之、豈惟刑故、吾心使然也、是宜輸稅、居位者上帝之執事、恆執斯役、

越至七年、耶何耶大招諸百夫長、與劊役、及趨承者、俱至耶和華殿、使之發誓、與之立約、然後以王子示之、

行此出我望外、先委身事主、後從我遵上帝旨、

以色列族長老、既至希伯崙、覲王大闢、於耶和華前、與之立約、長老以膏沐大闢、立為以色列族王、循耶和華命撒母耳之言。

昔在何烈、耶和華與以色列族既立盟約、今在摩押、更諭摩西、重申其約。摩西招以色列眾曰、昔在埃及、耶和華以災害異跡奇事、罰法老及臣、與其四境、爾所目擊。

眾言必將反之、不敢取利、遵命以行。我使祭司命眾發誓、必踐其言。我則拂去衣上塵、曰、凡不踐其言、上帝必去之、有如此衣、離家室、失產業、使之匱乏。會眾曰、正所願也、遂頌讚耶和華。嗣後民咸從斯言。

昔在何烈、我上帝耶和華與我立約、非與我祖立約、乃與我儕、今日尚存者、立約。
