When she arrived, she saw the newly crowned king standing in his place of authority by the pillar, as was the custom at times of coronation. The commanders and trumpeters were surrounding him, and people from all over the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. When Athaliah saw all this, she tore her clothes in despair and shouted,“ Treason! Treason!”

義人在位、人民欣喜、惡者秉鈞、億兆咨嗟。

耶和華諭摩西曰、用圓輪法、製銀角二、以集公會、使營遄征。吹二角時、會眾宜集、見爾於會幕前。吹一角時、以色列族牧伯、千夫長、必集見爾。若角聲宏遠一次、則東營遄征、二次、則南營遄征、如聞角聲宏壯、遄征勿緩。欲集公會時、可吹其角、聲勿宏遠。亞倫子孫為祭司、必吹其角、著為永例、歷世勿替。有敵犯境、爾往攻之、必吹角甚厲、則耶和華爾之上帝垂念爾曹、拯爾於敵。佳日、會期、月朔、與獻燔祭酬恩祭之時、當吹其角、我耶和華爾之上帝必垂念爾。○

眾裂衣、使驢負載、仍返於邑、○

祭司取耶和華殿所藏大闢之干戈、與諸百夫長、趨承者各執器械、立於王子四周、自殿左至殿右、環祭壇及聖所。

後流便至井、窺約瑟不在、遂裂己衣、

附近者以薩迦、西布倫、納大利三族、以牛、驢、駝、騾、載圓饅、細麵、無花果餅、葡萄乾、及酒與油、亦有牛羊、俱攜之至、不可勝數、以色列族無不欣喜焉。

亞哈謝之母亞大利見子已沒、則殲滅宗室、殆盡、約蘭王女、亞哈謝妹、約示巴、見宗室將滅、則竊亞哈謝子約轄、與其乳媼、藏於寢室、以避亞大利、免其殘害。

見之則曰、貽禍於以色列族者、豈非爾乎。對曰、貽禍於以色列族、非我也、乃爾及爾父之家、違耶和華命、奉事巴力故耳。
