耶户写第二封信给他们，说：“你们若归顺我，听从我的话，明日这时候，要带着你们主人众儿子的首级，来到耶斯列我这里。”那时王的儿子七十人都住在城中教养他们的那些尊贵人家里。

亚哈谢的母亲亚她利雅见她儿子死了，就起来剿灭犹大王室所有的后裔。

他说：“他们若为求和出来，要活捉他们，若为打仗出来，也要活捉他们。”

耶户向亚哈家施行惩罚的时候，遇见犹大的众领袖和亚哈谢的侄子们正服事亚哈谢，就把他们都杀了。

他行以色列诸王的道，正如亚哈家所行的，因他娶了亚哈的女儿为妻，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事。

由此可知，耶和华指着亚哈家所说的话一句也没有落空，因为耶和华实现了他藉他仆人以利亚所说的话。”凡亚哈家在耶斯列所剩下的，他的大臣、密友、祭司，耶户全都杀了，没有留下一个幸存者。
