he met some relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah and asked,“ Who are you?” They said,“ We are relatives of Ahaziah, and we have come down to greet the families of the king and of the queen mother.”

he saw some people. They were relatives of Ahaziah, the king of Judah. Jehu asked them,“ Who are you?” They said,“ We are Ahaziah’s relatives. We’ve come down to visit the families of the king and of his mother.”

Jehu met the relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah, and he said,“ Who are you?” And they answered,“ We are the relatives of Ahaziah, and we came down to visit the royal princes and the sons of the queen mother.”

he met some relatives of King Ahaziah of Judah.“ Who are you?” he asked them. And they replied,“ We are relatives of King Ahaziah. We are going to visit the sons of King Ahab and the sons of the queen mother.”

Jehu met the relatives of King Ahaziah of Judah and asked,“ Who are you?” They answered,“ We’re Ahaziah’s relatives. We’ve come down to greet the king’s sons and the queen mother’s sons.”

约兰与祖先同眠后，葬在大卫城他的祖坟里。他儿子亚哈谢继位。

耶路撒冷的居民拥立约兰的小儿子亚哈谢为王。因为约兰的其他儿子都被那些与阿拉伯人同来攻营的匪徒杀了，于是犹大王约兰的儿子亚哈谢做了王。亚哈谢二十二岁登基，在耶路撒冷执政一年。他母亲叫亚她利雅，是暗利的孙女。他重蹈亚哈家的覆辙，因为他的母亲唆使他作恶。他像亚哈家一样做耶和华视为恶的事，因为他父亲死后，亚哈家便唆使他作恶，使他走向灭亡。他照亚哈家的主意，与以色列王亚哈的儿子约兰一起去基列的拉末征讨亚兰王哈薛。亚兰人击伤约兰，约兰便回到耶斯列疗伤。犹大王亚哈谢前去探望他。亚哈谢去见约兰，遇害身亡，这事出于上帝。原来他到那里后便与约兰去攻击宁示的孙子耶户。耶户是耶和华膏立去毁灭亚哈家的人。耶户讨伐亚哈家的时候，遇见犹大众首领和亚哈谢的众侄儿，他们都是服侍亚哈谢的，耶户就把他们全部杀掉。然后耶户搜捕亚哈谢，民众找到躲在撒玛利亚的亚哈谢，把他押到耶户那里杀了。他们念他是全心寻求耶和华的约沙法的孙子，就把他埋葬了。这样，亚哈谢家无人能保住王位。亚哈谢的母亲亚她利雅见她儿子死了，便决定除掉犹大王室的后裔。

约兰下令备车。以色列王约兰和犹大王亚哈谢各乘自己的战车去见耶户。他们和耶户在耶斯列人拿伯的田里相遇。约兰问他：“耶户，你为平安而来吗？”耶户答道：“国中到处都是你母亲耶洗别的偶像和邪术，怎能平安呢？”约兰调转车头逃跑，向亚哈谢大喊：“亚哈谢，他反了！”耶户张弓搭箭，射中约兰的后背，箭穿透他的心脏，他倒毙在车上。耶户对将领毕甲说：“你去把他丢在耶斯列人拿伯的田里。还记得吗？你我一起驾车跟随他父亲亚哈的时候，耶和华曾预言亚哈的事说，‘我昨天看见拿伯和他儿子们被杀，我必使你在这块田里受到报应，这是耶和华说的。’现在你照耶和华的话，把他丢在这块田里吧。”犹大王亚哈谢见状，就沿着通往伯哈干的道路逃跑。耶户在后面追，并大喊：“射死他！”他们在以伯莲附近的姑珥坡射伤了亚哈谢。他逃到米吉多后，伤重身亡。
