他要救他们脱离欺凌和强暴，他们的血在他眼中看为宝贵。

但我并不珍惜自己的性命，只求跑完我的路程，完成我从主耶稣所领受的职分，为神恩惠的福音作见证。

扫罗说：“我有罪了，我儿大卫啊，你回来吧！因为今天你看我的命为宝贵，我必不再害你。看哪！我作了糊涂事了，并且错得很厉害。”

（因为他生命的赎价非常昂贵，只好永远放弃，）

凡是想救自己生命的，必丧掉生命；但为我牺牲生命的，必得着生命。人若赚得全世界，却赔上自己的生命，有什么好处呢？人还能用什么换回自己的生命呢？

因为妓女使人只剩一块饼，通奸的妇人（“通奸的妇人”直译是“人的妻子”）猎取人宝贵的生命。

以利亚回答五十夫长说：“如果我是神人，愿火从天降下，把你和你的五十名手下吞灭。”于是有火从天降下，吞灭了五十夫长和他的五十名手下。王再次派一个五十夫长和他的五十名手下到以利亚那里去。那五十夫长对以利亚说：“神人哪！王这样吩咐：‘你赶快下来。’”

在耶和华的眼中看来，圣民的死极为宝贵。
