他们不但照我们所盼望的，而且照着神的旨意，首先把自己献给了主，又献给了我们。

弟兄们，我们要你们明白神在马其顿省各教会中所赐的恩典：

所以弟兄们，我藉着神的各样怜悯劝你们，要把自己的身体献上，做为圣洁、蒙神喜悦的活祭；这是你们理所当然的事奉。

实际上，我们不是传扬自己，而是传扬主耶稣基督，并且为了耶稣的缘故，我们自己做了你们的奴仆；

因为我要用水浇灌干渴之处，用河流浇灌干旱之地；我要把我的灵浇灌在你的后裔身上，把我的祝福浇灌在你的子孙身上。他们要像溪水旁的柳树，在青草间长出。这人说‘我属耶和华’，那人用雅各的名自称，另一人在自己的手上写下‘属耶和华’，把以色列作为自己的名。”

也不要把你们身体的任何部分献给罪，做不义的器具；相反，要像从死人中复活的人，把自己献给神，并把身体的各部分做义的器具献给神。

我们没有一个人是为自己而活，也没有一个人是为自己而死。就是说，我们如果活着，是为主而活；如果死了，是为主而死。所以，我们无论是活着，还是死了，总是属于主。正是为此，基督死了，而且复活了，要做死人和活人的主。

实际上，基督的爱催逼着我们，因为我们如此判定：既然一个人替所有的人死了，所有的人就都死了；基督替所有的人死了，好让那些活着的人不再为自己活，却为替他们死而复活的基督而活。

难道你们不知道，你们的身体就是圣灵的圣所吗？这圣灵住在你们里面，是你们从神领受的。你们不属于自己，因为你们是被重价赎回来的。所以，你们应当用自己的身体荣耀神。

因此，我把这孩子献给耶和华；他终生都归于耶和华。”于是他就在那里敬拜耶和华。
