為此我竭力勤勞、循其在我心運用之大力、

爾向瑪其頓徧地之諸兄弟、果如此行、我儕勸爾曹益加勉之、

保羅夜見異象、有一瑪其頓人、立而求之曰、請涉至瑪其頓助我儕、

然我今日得為何如人、乃由天主之恩也、其恩非徒然賜我、我勤勞過諸使徒、此非我所能、天主之恩助我也、

既至、見天主之恩甚喜、乃勸眾堅心從主、

我在眾聖徒中、雖為至微者、猶蒙天主賜恩、使我於異邦人中、傳基督不可測之富有、

蓋我知爾樂捐之心、曾為爾誇於瑪其頓人前、言亞該亞人、自去年已有備矢、且爾之熱心、鼓舞多人、

蓋此施濟之事、不但補聖徒之不足、亦使多人感謝天主、

蓋瑪基頓人及亞該亞人、樂意捐貲、濟耶路撒冷聖徒之貧者、

彼在患難多試之間、仍然多樂、在極貧之中、亦彰其施濟之厚、我證其樂捐量力且過其力焉、彼殷勤求我與之共事、納其所捐之貲、以濟聖徒、我望彼行此、不但如我所望、且始已獻己於主、又竭力事我、遵天主之旨、故我勸提多既於爾中首勸施惠捐貲、亦當畢此事、爾既豐於諸事、即於信、於言、於知識、於諸殷勤、於愛我、亦當豐於施舍、

我在爾中、而用不足、未累一人、蓋自瑪其頓來之兄弟、補我之所缺、我凡事自守、免致累爾、後仍將自守、

又恐瑪其頓人與我同來、見爾未備、則使我因信爾而誇者有愧、爾愧更無庸言、

如是、爾曹為瑪其頓、亞該亞諸信者之模範、天主之道、由爾傳聞、不第在瑪其頓、亞該亞、爾信天主隨在播揚、故不須我儕復有所言、
