For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

The message we preach is not about ourselves. Our message is about Jesus Christ. We say that he is Lord. And we say that we serve you because of Jesus.

For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.

As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him.But Peter lifted him up, saying,“ Stand up; I myself am also a man.”

For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people:“ Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? But you, do not be called‘ Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren.

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

“ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from good will:

For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law;to those who are without law, as without law( not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law;to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.

And He said to them,“ The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called‘ benefactors.’But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves.

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.

Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock;and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for“ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

John answered and said,“ A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.You yourselves bear me witness, that I said,‘ I am not the Christ,’ but,‘ I have been sent before Him.’He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.He must increase, but I must decrease.He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ— He is Lord of all—

He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.

The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.

But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great,to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying,“ This man is the great power of God.”

Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language,“ The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!”And Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.Then the priest of Zeus, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, intending to sacrifice with the multitudes.But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying outand saying,“ Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

But Jesus called them to Himself and said,“ You know that the rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—

yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
