因為很明顯，你們是基督的書信，由我們所經手；不是用墨寫的，而是用永生神的靈寫的；不是刻在石版上，而是刻在人的心版上。

爾乃基督明晰之書、我作之、非書以墨、乃以永生上帝之神、非鐫於石碑、乃於人心之碑、

爾明為基督之書、為我所作、非書以墨、乃書以永生天主之神、非鐫於石版、乃鐫於心之肉版、

爾等明明為基督之書札、而吾儕供書記之役焉。此書也、非以楮墨寫成、乃以永生天主之聖神；非鐫於碑石、而鐫於人心者也。

西門彼得回答說：「你是基督，是永生神的兒子！」

其實他們自己在宣揚有關我們的事，說我們是怎樣進到你們那裡，你們是怎樣離棄偶像歸向神、服事又活又真的神，

神的聖所與偶像有什麼相同呢？要知道，我們是永生神的聖所，正如神所說：「我將要在他們中間居住，在他們中間往來；我將要做他們的神，他們將要做我的子民。」

我的靈魂切慕渴想耶和華的院宇；我的心和我的肉體向永生的神歡呼。

我的靈魂渴想神，渴想永生的神。我什麼時候能去見神的面呢？

更何況基督的血呢！基督藉著永恆的聖靈，將自己毫無瑕疵地獻給神，他的血難道不能潔淨我們的良心脫離致死的行為，使我們事奉永生的神嗎？

你當把它們繫在你的指頭上，把它們刻在你的心版上。

因為，就算真有所謂的神明——無論在天上或在地上，好像有許多的「神」和許多的「主」——但對我們來說，只有一位神，就是父，萬有都出於他，我們也歸於他；並且只有一位主，就是耶穌基督，萬有都藉著他而有，我們也藉著他而有。然而，不是所有的人都有這知識。有些人因習慣了偶像，至今還以為所吃的是祭過偶像的食物。他們的良心因為軟弱，就被玷汙了。其實食物不能使我們接近神；我們如果不吃也不會缺少什麼，吃了也不會增加什麼。不過要當心，免得你們的這權利成了軟弱之人的絆跌物。因為，如果有人看見你這有知識的人在偶像的廟裡坐席，難道不就鼓勵了他軟弱的良心，使他也去吃那祭過偶像的食物嗎？

「你要給那在錫亞蒂拉教會的使者寫信說：「神的兒子，就是那位眼睛如火焰、兩腳彷彿精銅的，這樣說：

「你要給那在勞迪西亞教會的使者寫信說：「那位阿們，就是那信實的、真實的見證者，神創造之物的本源，這樣說：

「你要給那在以弗所教會的使者寫信說：「那位右手握著七顆星、在七座金燈臺中間行走的，這樣說：

「你要給那在佩爾伽馬教會的使者寫信說：「那位有雙刃利劍的，這樣說：

「你要給那在費拉德菲亞教會的使者寫信說：「那位神聖的、真實的，拿著大衛的鑰匙、開了就沒有人能關、關了就沒有人能開的，這樣說：

「凡是有耳的，就應當聽聖靈向各教會所說的話！」

大衛問站在旁邊的人說：「如果有人擊殺這非利士人，除掉以色列的羞辱，他會被怎樣對待呢？這未受割禮的非利士人是誰，竟敢辱罵永生神的軍隊！」

「你要給士每拿教會的使者寫信說：「那位首先的、末後的，那位曾經死去又活過來的，這樣說：

「你要給那在薩迪斯教會的使者寫信說：「那位有神的七個靈和七顆星的，這樣說：我知道你的行為，你名義上是活的，其實你是死的。

現在我發出命令，在我國的一切權柄之下，人人都要在但以理的神面前恐懼戰兢——因為他是永生的神，他永遠長存，他的國度不會毀滅，他的權柄沒有窮盡！
