We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away.

We are not like Moses. He used to cover his face with a veil. That was to keep the people of Israel from seeing the end of what was passing away.

摩西與他們說完了話就用帕子蒙上臉。但摩西進到耶和華面前與他說話就揭去帕子，及至出來的時候便將耶和華所吩咐的告訴以色列人。以色列人看見摩西的面皮發光。摩西又用帕子蒙上臉，等到他進去與耶和華說話就揭去帕子。

那用字刻在石頭上屬死的職事尚且有榮光，甚至以色列人因摩西面上的榮光，不能定睛看他的臉；這榮光原是漸漸退去的，

因他使我們和睦，將兩下合而為一，拆毀了中間隔斷的牆；而且以自己的身體廢掉冤仇，就是那記在律法上的規條，為要將兩下藉着自己造成一個新人，如此便成就了和睦。

這些原是後事的影兒；那形體卻是基督。

但這因信得救的理還未來以先，我們被看守在律法之下，直圈到那將來的真道顯明出來。這樣，律法是我們訓蒙的師傅，引我們到基督那裏，使我們因信稱義。

律法的總結就是基督，使凡信他的都得着義。

律法既是將來美事的影兒，不是本物的真像，總不能藉着每年常獻一樣的祭物叫那近前來的人得以完全。若不然，獻祭的事豈不早已止住了嗎？因為禮拜的人，良心既被潔淨，就不再覺得有罪了。但這些祭物是叫人每年想起罪來；因為公牛和山羊的血，斷不能除罪。所以基督到世上來的時候，就說：神啊，祭物和禮物是你不願意的；你曾給我預備了身體。燔祭和贖罪祭是你不喜歡的。那時我說：神啊，我來了，為要照你的旨意行；我的事在經卷上已經記載了。以上說：「祭物和禮物，燔祭和贖罪祭，是你不願意的，也是你不喜歡的（這都是按着律法獻的）」；後又說：「我來了為要照你的旨意行」；可見他是除去在先的，為要立定在後的。
