弟兄們，我們在亞西亞遭受的患難，我們很想讓你們知道。那時我們受到了過於我們所能忍受的壓力，甚至活下去的希望都沒有了，

弟兄们，我们不要你们不晓得，我们从前在亚细亚遭遇苦难，被压太重，力不能胜，甚至连活命的指望都绝了；

弟兄们，我们不要你们不知道，我们从前在亚细亚遭遇苦难，因受到无法忍受的压力，甚至连活命的指望都没有了。

弟兄们，我们不要你们不知道，我们从前在亚细亚遭遇苦难，因受到无法忍受的压力，甚至连活命的指望都没有了。

弟兄姊妹，希望你们知道我们在亚细亚所遭遇的苦难。那时我们承受极大的压力，超过了我们的极限，甚至连活命的指望都没了。

弟兄們，我們不要你們不曉得，我們從前在亞細亞遭遇苦難，被壓太重，力不能勝，甚至連活命的指望都絕了；

弟兄們，我們不願意你們不明白我們從前在亞西亞所受的苦難，就是：極受重壓，出於力所能勝之外，甚至到了絕望，連活着的希望都沒有；

弟兄們，我們不願意你們不明白我們在亞細亞省所遭受的患難：我們所受的壓力遠遠過於我們的承受能力，甚至連活下去的希望也沒有了。

兄弟乎、我欲爾知、我在亞西亞遭難、見壓特甚、勢不克勝、至絕生望、

吾欲兄弟知、吾在亞西亞遭苦、見壓特甚、勢不可當、欲保生命、已絕其望、

兄弟、我不欲爾不知、我在亞西亞遭難、被迫特甚、勢不可當、致絕保生命之望、

吾儕在亞西亞所遭遇之患難、不欲兄弟不之知也。當時吾儕所受之困阨、實非人力之所能當者、且自謂必不能倖免矣。

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself.

Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the hard times we had in Asia Minor. We were having a lot of trouble. It was far more than we could stand. We even thought we were going to die.

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.

We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it.

We don’t want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction that took place in Asia. We were completely overwhelmed— beyond our strength— so that we even despaired of life itself.

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction which occurred in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life.

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.

For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befell us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

For we don’t want you to be unaware, brothers, of our affliction that took place in Asia: we were completely overwhelmed— beyond our strength— so that we even despaired of life.

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, regarding the affliction that happened to us in the province of Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of living.

For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

我在以弗所和野獸搏鬥，如果照著人的意思來看，那對我有甚麼益處呢？如果死人不會復活，“我們就吃吃喝喝吧，因為我們明天就要死了。”

我們有這寶貝在瓦器裡，是要顯明這極大的能力是屬於神，不是出於我們。我們雖然四面受壓，卻沒有壓碎；心裡作難，卻不至絕望，受到迫害，卻沒有被丟棄；打倒了，卻不至死亡。我們身上常常帶著耶穌的死，好讓耶穌的生也在我們的身上顯明出來。我們這些活著的人，為耶穌的緣故常常被人置於死地，好讓耶穌的生也在我們必死的身上顯明出來。這樣看來，死在我們身上運行，生卻在你們的身上運行。

因為這裡有又寬大又有果效的門為我開了，同時反對的人也很多。

你們已經滿足了，已經豐富了，不需要我們，自己作王了。我恨不得你們真的作了王，讓我們也可以跟你們一同作王！

那時，因這道起了大擾亂，有一個銀匠，名叫低米丟，是製造亞底米女神銀龕的。他讓技工們作了不少的生意。他把這些人和同業的工人聚集起來，說：“各位，你們知道，我們是靠這生意賺錢的。現在你們看見了，也聽見了，這個保羅不單在以弗所，而且幾乎在整個亞西亞，說服了，也帶壞了許多人，說：‘人手所做的，都不是神。’這樣，不只我們這一行要給人鄙視，就是大女神亞底米的廟也會給人撇棄，連全亞西亞和普天下所敬拜的女神也要垮臺，威榮盡都失掉了。”他們聽了，怒氣沖沖喊著說：“以弗所人的女神，偉大的亞底米啊！”全城騷動起來，他們捉住了保羅的旅伴馬其頓人該猶和亞里達古，齊心衝進了劇場。保羅想要到人群當中去，門徒卻不許。還有幾位亞西亞的首長，是保羅的朋友，派人來勸他，不要冒險到劇場裡去。那時大家叫這個喊那個，亂成一團，大多數的人都不知道聚集的原因。猶太人把亞歷山大推到前面，群眾中有人把這事的因由告訴他。亞歷山大作了一個手勢，要向民眾申辯。大家一認出他是猶太人，就異口同聲高呼：“以弗所人的女神，偉大的亞底米啊！”喊了約有兩個鐘頭。後來，書記官安撫群眾說：“以弗所人哪！誰不知道你們的城，是看守大亞底米的廟，又是看守宙斯那裡降下的神像的呢？

大衛再起誓說：“你父親一定知道我在你眼中蒙恩，就心裡想：‘不要讓約拿單知道這事，免得他傷心。’可是，我指著永活的耶和華，又指著你的性命起誓，我離死只差一步。”

大衛心裡說：“總有一天，我會死在掃羅的手裡，我倒不如逃奔到非利士人的國土，掃羅對我就會死心，不再在以色列全境尋索我，我就可以逃脫他的手了。”
