For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.

蓋吾儕固為基督飽嘗苦難、亦因基督而飽領神慰。

For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

We share very much in the sufferings of Christ. So we also share very much in his comfort.

For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.Being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, the dirt wiped off by all, even until now.

If therefore there is any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,

always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh.

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

I have been a night and a day in the deep.I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers;in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily: anxiety for all the assemblies.Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I don’t burn with indignation?If I must boast, I will boast of the things that concern my weakness.
