Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm.

Your faith is not under our control. You remain strong in your own faith. But we work together with you for your joy.

The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle toward all, able to teach, patient,in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.

through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

Be sober and self- controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.

Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace,above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
