Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm.

Your faith is not under our control. You remain strong in your own faith. But we work together with you for your joy.

through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

that is, that I with you may be comforted in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world.

Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
