在敵人虜者之地、一心一意歸爾、向其故土、爾所賜其列祖者、與爾所簡之邑、及我為爾名所建之室祈禱、

一心一意、歸向乎爾、望爾所賜列祖之故土、及爾所簡之邑垣、與我所建之殿、為籲名之所、祈求於爾、

如在敵人擄之之地、盡心盡意歸向主、向其故土、即主所賜其列祖之地、與主所選之邑、及我為主名所建之殿、祈禱於主、

and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their captivity where they were taken, and pray toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have chosen and toward the temple I have built for your Name;

And they turn back to you with all their heart and soul. Suppose it happens in the land where they were taken as prisoners. There they pray toward the land you gave their people long ago. They pray toward the city you have chosen. And they pray toward the temple I’ve built for your Name.

耶和華說：雖然如此，你們應當禁食、哭泣、悲哀，一心歸向我。你們要撕裂心腸，不撕裂衣服。歸向耶和華－你們的神；因為他有恩典，有憐憫，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且後悔不降所說的災。

以色列啊，你要歸向耶和華－你的神；你是因自己的罪孽跌倒了。當歸向耶和華，用言語禱告他說：求你除淨罪孽，悅納善行；這樣，我們就把嘴唇的祭代替牛犢獻上。我們不向亞述求救，不騎埃及的馬，也不再對我們手所造的說：你是我們的神。因為孤兒在你－耶和華那裏得蒙憐憫。我必醫治他們背道的病，甘心愛他們；因為我的怒氣向他們轉消。

我便禁食，披麻蒙灰，定意向主神祈禱懇求。我向耶和華－我的神祈禱、認罪，說：「主啊，大而可畏的神，向愛主、守主誡命的人守約施慈愛。

你們要呼求我，禱告我，我就應允你們。你們尋求我，若專心尋求我，就必尋見。耶和華說：我必被你們尋見，我也必使你們被擄的人歸回，將你們從各國中和我所趕你們到的各處招聚了來，又將你們帶回我使你們被擄掠離開的地方。這是耶和華說的。

但以理知道這禁令蓋了玉璽，就到自己家裏（他樓上的窗戶開向耶路撒冷），一日三次，雙膝跪在他神面前，禱告感謝，與素常一樣。

你和你的子孫若盡心盡性歸向耶和華－你的神，照着我今日一切所吩咐的聽從他的話；那時，耶和華－你的神必憐恤你，救回你這被擄的子民；耶和華－你的神要回轉過來，從分散你到的萬民中將你招聚回來。你被趕散的人，就是在天涯的，耶和華－你的神也必從那裏將你招聚回來。耶和華－你的神必領你進入你列祖所得的地，使你可以得着；又必善待你，使你的人數比你列祖眾多。耶和華－你神必將你心裏和你後裔心裏的污穢除掉，好叫你盡心盡性愛耶和華－你的神，使你可以存活。

所以耶和華使亞述王的將帥來攻擊他們，用鐃鈎鈎住瑪拿西，用銅鍊鎖住他，帶到巴比倫去。他在急難的時候，就懇求耶和華－他的神，且在他列祖的神面前極其自卑。他祈禱耶和華，耶和華就允准他的祈求，垂聽他的禱告，使他歸回耶路撒冷，仍坐國位。瑪拿西這才知道惟獨耶和華是神。
