Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it didn’t rain on the earth for three years and six months.He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

Many nations will go and say,“ Come! Let’s go up to the mountain of Yahweh, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the law will go out of Zion, and Yahweh’s word from Jerusalem;

“ Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in Yahweh, your God; for he gives you the early rain in just measure, and he causes the rain to come down for you, the early rain and the latter rain, as before.

It will happen in that day, I will respond,” says Yahweh,“ I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth;and the earth will respond to the grain, and the new wine, and the oil; and they will respond to Jezreel.

I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing. I will cause the shower to come down in its season. There will be showers of blessing.

Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the sky give showers? Aren’t you he, Yahweh our God? Therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.

What man is he who fears Yahweh? He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose.

Show me your ways, Yahweh. Teach me your paths.Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long.

Yahweh says,“ Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths,‘ Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said,‘ We will not walk in it.’

Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,Whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.“ Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

that Yahweh your God may show us the way in which we should walk, and the things that we should do.”

Ask of Yahweh rain in the spring time, Yahweh who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.

Good and upright is Yahweh, therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.

They don’t say in their heart,‘ Let’s now fear Yahweh our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season; who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest.’

“ When the sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them,then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.

Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down on the earth, and put his face between his knees.He said to his servant,“ Go up now, and look toward the sea.” He went up, and looked, and said,“ There is nothing.” He said,“ Go again” seven times.On the seventh time, he said,“ Behold, a small cloud, like a man’s hand, is rising out of the sea.” He said,“ Go up, tell Ahab,‘ Get ready and go down, so that the rain doesn’t stop you.’”In a little while, the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,“ This is the way. Walk in it.”

You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance when it was weary.
