“ When anyone wrongs their neighbor and is required to take an oath and they come and swear the oath before your altar in this temple,

“ Suppose someone does something wrong to their neighbor. And the person who has done something wrong is required to give their word. They must tell the truth about what they have done. They must come and do it in front of your altar in this temple.

“ When someone is accused of sinning against his neighbor and the latter pronounces a curse on the alleged offender before your altar in this temple,

两人必须在耶和华面前起誓，表明他没有下手拿去邻舍的财物；如果物主接受那誓言，看守的人就不必赔偿。

祭司要叫那妇人起誓，对她说：‘如果没有人与你同寝，作妻子时没有背弃丈夫被人玷污，你就免受这使人招致咒诅的苦水。但是，如果你作妻子时背弃了丈夫，被人玷污了；如果你在你的丈夫以外，曾与别的男人同寝’，这样，祭司就要叫那妇人发咒起誓，继续对她说：‘耶和华要使你的大腿消瘦，肚腹肿胀；愿耶和华叫你在你的族人中成为咒诅和起誓的话柄；愿这招致咒诅的水进入你的腹中，使你的肚腹肿胀，大腿消瘦。’那妇人要说：‘阿们、阿们。’

“如果有人犯罪：他听见发誓的声音（“发誓的声音”或译：“传召作证的声音”，或“发咒语的声音”）；他本是证人，却不肯把看见或知道的说出来，他就要担当自己的罪责。

你们又说：‘凡指着祭坛所起的誓，是没有用的；但指着坛上的祭物所起的誓，就必须遵守。’

免得我吃饱了，就不认你，说：‘耶和华是谁？’又恐怕我贫穷，就偷窃，污渎了我神的名。

“如果有人得罪他的邻居被迫起誓，他来到这殿在你的祭坛前起誓的时候，求你在天上垂听，采取行动，审判你的仆人，定恶人有罪，使他所行的，都归到他自己的头上。定义人有理，照着他的公义赏赐他。
