希幔的族兄和助手亚萨是比利迦的儿子，比利迦是示米亚的儿子，

歌唱的在前，奏乐的殿后，摇手鼓的少女居中。

嫩的儿子约书亚便召来祭司，对他们说：“你们抬起约柜，派七位祭司拿着七个羊角号走在耶和华的约柜前面。”他又对民众说：“你们要前去绕着城墙走，军队要走在耶和华的约柜前面。”听完约书亚的吩咐，七个祭司便在耶和华面前拿着羊角号边走边吹，耶和华的约柜就跟在他们后面，军队走在吹号的祭司前面，殿后军队跟在约柜后面。祭司一路上吹着号角。约书亚吩咐民众：“在我下令叫你们吶喊以前，谁也不许作声，一句话也不许说。”这样，约书亚使耶和华的约柜绕城一圈，然后众人各自回营休息。第二天，约书亚一早起来，祭司又抬起耶和华的约柜。七个祭司拿着七个羊角号走在耶和华的约柜前面，一边走一边吹角。军队走在祭司前面，殿后军队跟在耶和华的约柜后面。这一天他们又绕城一圈，然后各自回营。六天都是这样。第七天黎明时分，他们起来照样绕城，只是这一天他们绕城走了七次。走到第七次，祭司吹响了号角，约书亚吩咐民众说：“吶喊吧！因为耶和华已经将这城交给你们了。要把这座城和城里所有的东西毁灭，作为献给耶和华之物。只有妓女喇合和她家中所有的人可以活命，因为她曾把我们派去的探子隐藏起来。你们要小心，不可私拿任何应当毁灭的东西，免得你们自取灭亡，并给以色列全营带来灾祸。要把所有的金银和铜铁器皿分别出来献给耶和华，放进耶和华的库房里。”于是，民众听到号角声时，就高声呐喊，城墙便坍塌了。民众便一拥而上，占领了耶利哥城，

与他们一同供职的有希幔、耶杜顿和其他人，他们被特别选出来称谢上帝，因为祂有永恒的慈爱。希幔和耶杜顿负责用号、钹及其他乐器伴奏歌颂上帝。耶杜顿的子孙负责守门。

大卫和抬约柜的利未人、歌乐手及其领班基拿尼雅都穿上细麻衣，大卫还穿上细麻布的以弗得。

那掌管七种灾祸的七位天使都从殿中出来，身穿洁白发光的细麻布衣服，胸佩金带。

大卫又吩咐利未人的族长去派他们的族人做歌乐手，伴着琴瑟和钹的乐声欢唱。于是，利未人指派约珥的儿子希幔和他的亲族比利迦的儿子亚萨，以及他的亲族米拉利的后代古沙雅的儿子以探。协助他们的亲族有撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、比拿雅、玛西雅、玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅，以及守门的俄别·以东和耶利。歌乐手希幔、亚萨和以探负责敲铜钹，撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、乌尼、以利押、玛西雅、比拿雅负责鼓瑟，调用高音。玛他提雅、以利斐利户、弥克尼雅、俄别·以东、耶利、亚撒西雅负责带领弹琴，调用低音。利未人的族长基拿尼雅善于歌唱，是歌乐手的领班。

我的心默默等候上帝，祂是我的拯救者。

大卫和众首领派亚萨、希幔和耶杜顿的后代伴着琴、瑟和钹宣讲上帝的话。以下是担当这职务的人：撒刻、约瑟、尼探雅、亚萨利拉受他们的父亲亚萨指挥，照王的旨意宣讲上帝的话。基大利、西利、耶筛亚、示每、哈沙比雅、玛他提雅六人受他们的父亲耶杜顿的指挥，伴着琴声称谢、颂赞耶和华，宣讲祂的话。希幔的儿子是布基雅、玛探雅、乌薛、细布业、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亚他、基大利提、罗幔提·以谢、约施比加沙、玛罗提、何提、玛哈秀。希幔是王的先见，上帝恩宠他，按应许赐给他十四个儿子、三个女儿。这些人由他们的父亲指挥，在耶和华的殿唱歌、敲钹、弹琴、鼓瑟，事奉耶和华。亚萨、耶杜顿、希幔听命于王。他们和其他训练有素、负责歌颂耶和华的亲族共有二百八十八人。

耶和华对摩西说：“你要用银子打造两支号，用来招聚会众和发出拔营的号令。吹响两支号时，全体会众要聚集到你那里，即会幕门口。如果只吹响一支号，担任首领的以色列各族长要聚集到你那里。如果吹响拔营的号令，在东面扎营的就要启行；

工人立耶和华殿的根基时，祭司身穿礼服拿着号角，利未人亚萨的子孙拿着钹各就各位，照以色列王大卫所定的规矩赞美耶和华。他们彼此唱和，赞美、称谢耶和华，说：“祂是美善的，因为祂向以色列人永施慈爱！”所有人都高声欢呼赞美耶和华，因为耶和华殿的根基已经立好。

他们每天早晚要肃立、颂赞耶和华，

从日出之地到日落之处，大能的上帝耶和华召唤世人。

愿他们跳舞赞美祂的名，击鼓弹琴歌颂祂。

获准穿上光亮洁白的细麻衣。”这细麻衣代表圣徒的义行。

祭司在自己的岗位上侍立，利未人奏着大卫王为颂赞耶和华而为他们制造的乐器，歌颂说：“祂的慈爱永远长存。”他们对面的祭司也吹响号角，全体以色列人都肃立。

大卫和以色列众人就在上帝面前用琴、瑟、鼓、钹和号奏乐，尽情歌舞。

大卫指派一些利未人在耶和华的约柜前事奉，颂扬、称谢和赞美以色列的上帝耶和华。为首的是亚萨，其次是撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、玛他提雅、以利押、比拿雅、俄别·以东和耶利，他们鼓瑟弹琴，亚萨敲钹。比拿雅和雅哈悉两位祭司在上帝的约柜前吹号。

耶和华，拯救我的上帝啊，我昼夜不停地呼求你。
