约西亚的众首领也乐意将牺牲给百姓和祭司利未人；又有管理神殿的希勒家、撒迦利亚、耶歇将羊羔二千六百只，牛三百只，给祭司作逾越节的祭物。

利未人见银子多了，就把柜抬到王所派的司事面前；王的书记和大祭司的属员来将柜倒空，仍放在原处。日日都是这样，积蓄的银子甚多。王与耶何耶大将银子交给耶和华殿里办事的人，他们就雇了石匠、木匠重修耶和华的殿，又雇了铁匠、铜匠修理耶和华的殿。工人操作，渐渐修成，将神殿修造得与从前一样，而且甚是坚固。工程完了，他们就把其余的银子拿到王与耶何耶大面前，用以制造耶和华殿供奉所用的器皿和调羹，并金银的器皿。耶何耶大在世的时候，众人常在耶和华殿里献燔祭。

他们将奉到耶和华殿的银子运出来的时候，祭司希勒家偶然得了摩西所传耶和华的律法书。希勒家对书记沙番说：“我在耶和华殿里得了律法书。”遂将书递给沙番。

王吩咐大祭司希勒家和副祭司，并把门的，将那为巴力和亚舍拉，并天上万象所造的器皿，都从耶和华殿里搬出来，在耶路撒冷外汲沦溪旁的田间烧了，把灰拿到伯特利去。

弟兄们，我还有未尽的话：凡是真实的、可敬的、公义的、清洁的、可爱的、有美名的，若有什么德行，若有什么称赞，这些事你们都要思念。

这事既都完毕，在那里的以色列众人就到犹大的城邑，打碎柱像，砍断木偶，又在犹大、便雅悯、以法莲、玛拿西遍地将邱坛和祭坛拆毁净尽。于是以色列众人各回各城，各归各地。

“你去见大祭司希勒家，使他将奉到耶和华殿的银子，就是守门的从民中收聚的银子，数算数算，交给耶和华殿里办事的人，使他们转交耶和华殿里做工的人，好修理殿的破坏之处，就是转交木匠和工人，并瓦匠，又买木料和凿成的石头修理殿宇，将银子交在办事的人手里，不与他们算账，因为他们办事诚实。”

吩咐希勒家与沙番的儿子亚希甘、米迦的儿子亚比顿、书记沙番，和王的臣仆亚撒雅说：

书记沙番又对王说：“祭司希勒家递给我一卷书。”沙番就在王面前读那书。

于是，希勒家和王所派的众人都去见女先知户勒大。户勒大是掌管礼服沙龙的妻，沙龙是哈斯拉的孙子、特瓦的儿子。户勒大住在耶路撒冷第二区；他们请问于她。
