但是他們沒有聽從。瑪拿西引誘他們去作壞事，比耶和華從以色列人面前消滅的外族人更厲害。於是耶和華藉著他的僕人眾先知說：“因為猶大王瑪拿西所作這些可憎惡的事，比在他以前的亞摩利人所行的惡更壞，並且以他的偶像使猶大人犯罪。

他們隨從耶和華從以色列人面前驅逐的外族人的風俗，以及以色列諸王奉行的風俗。以色列人暗中做了不對的事，違背耶和華他們的神，並且在他們所有的城市，從哨站到設防城，為他們自己建築邱壇。又在各高山頂上和每一棵青翠的樹下豎立神柱和亞舍拉。他們在各邱壇上獻祭和焚香，好像耶和華從他們的面前擄去的外族人一樣，又行惡事，使耶和華發怒。

為了耶羅波安所犯的罪，又為了他使以色列人所犯的罪，耶和華必丟棄以色列人。”

“你們不可讓這些事的任何一件玷污自己，因為我將要從你們面前趕出去的各族，就是被這些事玷污了自己。

這族人人數眾多，身體高大，像亞衲族人一樣；但耶和華從亞捫人面前消滅了他們，亞捫人就佔領了他們的地業，住在那裡，

你跟隨了暗利的規例和亞哈家一切所行的，順從了他們的計謀；因此，我必使你荒涼，使你（“你”原文作“她”）的居民被嗤笑；你們也必擔當我民的羞辱。

此外，瑪拿西又流了許多無辜人的血，耶路撒冷，從這邊直到那邊，都滿了血。這還是在他使猶大人犯罪，去行耶和華看為惡的事那罪之外。

你實在是你母親的女兒，她厭棄自己的丈夫和兒女；你實在是你姊妹的姊妹，她們厭棄她們的丈夫和兒女；你們的母親是赫人，你們的父親是亞摩利人。你的姊姊是撒瑪利亞，她和她的女兒們住在你的北面；你的妹妹是所多瑪，她和她的女兒們住在你的南面。你不但行她們所行的，作她們所作的可憎之事，而且你還以那些事為小，你一切所行的比她們更壞。

我領你們到了住在約旦河東的亞摩利人的地，他們和你們爭戰，我把他們交在你們手裡，你們就得了他們的地作產業；我也在你們面前把他們消滅。
