He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, following the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.

Manasseh did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord. He followed the practices of the nations. The Lord hated those practices. The Lord had driven out those nations to make room for the Israelites.

And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.

He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the detestable practices of the pagan nations that the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites.

He did what was evil in the LORD’s sight, imitating the detestable practices of the nations that the LORD had dispossessed before the Israelites.

『你到了永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的地那時候，不可仿傚那些外國人可厭惡的事去學着行。

你向永恆主你的上帝可不要這樣行，因為他們向他們的神行了永恆主所恨惡一切可厭惡的事，甚至將他們的兒女燒在火中、去獻給他們的神。

就在那裏在邱壇上燻祭，正像永恆主從他們面前所擄走的外國人所行的一樣；他們又行壞事來惹永恆主發怒；

他們棄絕了永恆主的律例和他跟他們列祖所立的約，又棄絕了他所警諭他們的話，去隨從虛無的神，而成為虛妄，又隨從他們四圍的外國人、就是永恆主曾吩咐不可照他們的樣子行的。

我們哪可再違犯你的命令，跟這些行可憎惡之事的族民彼此結親呢？若這樣行，你豈不向我們發怒，直到我們滅盡，以致沒有一個餘剩之民或逃脫的人麼？

然而他們卻不聽從；而瑪拿西竟迷惑了他們去行壞事、比永恆主從以色列人面前所除滅的外國人更壞。

你們就知道我乃是永恆主；因為你們沒有遵行我的律例，沒有實行我的典章，反而依照你們四圍列國的規矩去行。』

『不可因這些事的任一樣而蒙不潔，因為我從你們面前所趕走的外國人、就是在這一切事上蒙不潔的。連地也蒙不潔呢，所以我向那地察罰它的罪愆，那地就把它的居民吐出。故此你們要守我的律例和典章；這一切可厭惡的事、無論是本地人、是在你們中間寄居的外僑、都不可作，（因為這一切可厭惡的事、在你們以前那地的人都行了，而地就蒙了不潔；）免得你們使那地蒙不潔時、地就把你們吐出，像吐出你們以前的列國人一樣。因為凡作這些可厭惡之事的任一樣的、無論何人都必須從他們族人中被剪除。所以你們要守我所吩咐守的，免得你們實行這些可厭惡的規例、就是你們以前的人所作的、因而蒙了不潔；我永恆主是你們的上帝。』

『所以你們要謹守我的一切律例、一切典章而遵行它，免得我領你們去住的那地把你們吐出。我從你們面前所趕走的列國人、你們不可隨從他們的規例行；因為他們作了這一切事，所以我憎厭他們。

不但如此，眾祭司領袖和人民也大大地不忠實，像外國人所行一切可憎惡的事那樣；他們污瀆了永恆主的殿、就是永恆主在耶路撒冷所分別為聖的。

你正要趕出的那些外國人都聽信算命的、占卜的；至於你呢，永恆主你的上帝是不曾許給你這樣行的。

反而和外國人混雜嫁娶，學習他們的行為，事奉他們的偶像：這就成了餌誘自己的網羅。他們宰獻了自己的兒子和女兒給魔鬼，流了無辜人的血，他們兒女的血，他們所宰獻給迦南之偶像的；那地就因血而被沾污了。這樣他們就因所作的而蒙不潔，也以惡行為而變節事奉別的神了。因此永恆主向他的人民發怒，厭惡了他的產業。

我必使他們成了地上萬國所不寒而慄的對象，都因猶大王希西家的兒子瑪拿西的緣故，因為他在耶路撒冷行了惡事。
