因为他说：“在我手下的众领袖不都是王吗？

他们若被锁链捆住，被苦难的绳索缠住，他就把他们的作为和过犯都显示，使他们知道他们骄傲自大。他开启他们的耳朵可以领受教训，吩咐他们离开罪孽而悔改。他们若听从他、事奉他，就必幸福地度尽他们的日子，也必快乐地度过他们的岁月。

他们有些人坐在黑暗和死荫里，被困苦和铁链捆锁着；因为他们违背了神的话，藐视了至高者的旨意。所以神用苦难治服他们的心；他们跌倒，也没有人帮助。他们在急难中呼求耶和华，耶和华就拯救他们脱离困苦。他从黑暗里和死荫中把他们领出来，弄断他们的锁链。

这地丰富的出产都归给列王，就是你因我们的罪派来管辖我们的；他们也随意管辖我们的身体和我们的牲畜；我们遭遇大患难。

若不能，你怎能击退我主的臣仆中最小的军长呢？你竟倚靠埃及的战车和马兵吗？
