So when the envoys arrived from the Babylonian officials to visit him and inquire about the sign that occurred in the land, God left him alone to test him, in order to know his true motives.

惟有一件事，就是巴比伦王差遣使者来见希西家，访问国中所现的奇事；这件事神离开他，要试验他，好知道他心内如何。

但当巴比伦诸侯差遣使者来见希西家，询问国中所发生的奇事时，上帝离开他，要考验他，好知道他心里的一切。

But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.

The rulers of Babylon sent messengers to him. They asked him about the miraculous sign that had taken place in the land. Then God left Hezekiah to test him. God wanted to know everything in Hezekiah’s heart.

And so in the matter of the envoys of the princes of Babylon, who had been sent to him to inquire about the sign that had been done in the land, God left him to himself, in order to test him and to know all that was in his heart.

However, when ambassadors arrived from Babylon to ask about the remarkable events that had taken place in the land, God withdrew from Hezekiah in order to test him and to see what was really in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Even in the matter of the messengers of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land; God left him alone only to test him, so that He might know everything that was in his heart.

However, regarding the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, whom they sent to him to inquire about the wonder that was done in the land, God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

Remember the whole way by which he has brought you these forty years through the desert so that he might, by humbling you, test you to see if you have it within you to keep his commandments or not.

Some time after these things God tested Abraham. He said to him,“ Abraham!”“ Here I am!” Abraham replied.

In those days Hezekiah was stricken with a terminal illness. He prayed to the LORD, who answered him and gave him a sign confirming that he would be healed.

fed you in the desert with manna( which your ancestors had never before known) so that he might by humbling you test you and eventually bring good to you.

Let no one say when he is tempted,“ I am tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.

But extend your hand and strike everything he has, and he will no doubt curse you to your face!”So the LORD said to Satan,“ All right then, everything he has is in your power. Only do not extend your hand against the man himself!” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

“ I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me– and I in him– bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing.

The crucible is for refining silver and the furnace is for gold, likewise the LORD tests hearts.

Who can endure the day of his coming? Who can keep standing when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire, like a launderer’s soap.He will act like a refiner and purifier of silver and will cleanse the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer the LORD a proper offering.

At that time Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been ill and had recovered.Hezekiah welcomed them and showed them his storehouse with its silver, gold, spices, and high-quality olive oil, as well as his whole armory and everything in his treasuries. Hezekiah showed them everything in his palace and in his whole kingdom.Isaiah the prophet visited King Hezekiah and asked him,“ What did these men say? Where do they come from?” Hezekiah replied,“ They come from the distant land of Babylon.”Isaiah asked,“ What have they seen in your palace?” Hezekiah replied,“ They have seen everything in my palace. I showed them everything in my treasuries.”Isaiah said to Hezekiah,“ Listen to the word of the LORD who commands armies:‘ Look, a time is coming when everything in your palace and the things your ancestors have accumulated to this day will be carried away to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the LORD.‘ Some of your very own descendants whom you father will be taken away and will be made eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”Hezekiah said to Isaiah,“ The LORD’s word which you have announced is appropriate.” Then he thought,“ For there will be peace and stability during my lifetime.”

Then I will bring the remaining third into the fire; I will refine them like silver is refined and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name and I will answer; I will say,‘ These are my people,’ and they will say,‘ The LORD is my God.’”

She said,“ The Philistines are here, Samson!” He woke up and thought,“ I will do as I did before and shake myself free.” But he did not realize that the LORD had left him.

Hezekiah had said to Isaiah,“ What is the confirming sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the LORD’s temple the day after tomorrow?”Isaiah replied,“ This is your sign from the LORD confirming that the LORD will do what he has said. Do you want the shadow to move ahead ten steps or to go back ten steps?”Hezekiah answered,“ It is easy for the shadow to lengthen ten steps, but not for it to go back ten steps.”Isaiah the prophet called out to the LORD, and the LORD made the shadow go back ten steps on the stairs of Ahaz.At that time Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a gift to Hezekiah, for he had heard that Hezekiah was ill.Hezekiah welcomed them and showed them his whole storehouse, with its silver, gold, spices, and high quality olive oil, as well as his armory and everything in his treasuries. Hezekiah showed them everything in his palace and in his whole kingdom.

Do not reject me! Do not push your servant away in anger! You are my deliverer! Do not forsake or abandon me, O God who vindicates me!

O LORD, you examine me and know.You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives.

You must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer, for the LORD your God will be testing you to see if you love him with all your mind and being.

Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold– gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away– and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Isaiah replied,“ This is your sign from the LORD confirming that the LORD will do what he has said:Look, I will make the shadow go back ten steps on the stairs of Ahaz.” And then the shadow went back ten steps.

Do not reject me! Do not take your Holy Spirit away from me!Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance! Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey!

Sustain me as you promised, so that I will live. Do not disappoint me!Support me, so that I will be delivered. Then I will focus on your statutes continually.

Then the LORD said to Satan,“ Have you considered my servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a pure and upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil. And he still holds firmly to his integrity, so that you stirred me up to destroy him without reason.”But Satan answered the LORD,“ Skin for skin! Indeed, a man will give up all that he has to save his life!But extend your hand and strike his bone and his flesh, and he will no doubt curse you to your face!”So the LORD said to Satan,“ All right, he is in your power; only preserve his life.”

Examine me, and probe my thoughts! Test me, and know my concerns!See if there is any idolatrous tendency in me, and lead me in the reliable ancient path!
