But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.

The rulers of Babylon sent messengers to him. They asked him about the miraculous sign that had taken place in the land. Then God left Hezekiah to test him. God wanted to know everything in Hezekiah’s heart.

And so in the matter of the envoys of the princes of Babylon, who had been sent to him to inquire about the sign that had been done in the land, God left him to himself, in order to test him and to know all that was in his heart.

However, when ambassadors arrived from Babylon to ask about the remarkable events that had taken place in the land, God withdrew from Hezekiah in order to test him and to see what was really in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Even in the matter of the messengers of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land; God left him alone only to test him, so that He might know everything that was in his heart.

However, regarding the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, whom they sent to him to inquire about the wonder that was done in the land, God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers were sent to him to inquire about the miraculous sign that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.

Howbeit in[ the business of] the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was[ done] in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all[ that was] in his heart.

So when the envoys arrived from the Babylonian officials to visit him and inquire about the sign that occurred in the land, God left him alone to test him, in order to know his true motives.

However concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

要記住這四十年來你們的上帝耶和華怎樣在曠野引領你們，祂磨煉你們、考驗你們，好知道你們的心意如何、肯不肯遵守祂的誡命。

這些事以後，上帝要考驗亞伯拉罕，就呼喚他：「亞伯拉罕！」他回答說：「我在這裡。」

那時，希西迦病危，他向耶和華祈求。耶和華應允了他，賜給他一個徵兆。

在曠野中把你們祖先從未見過的嗎哪賜給你們吃，為要磨煉你們、考驗你們，使你們最終得到益處。

當人受到誘惑時，不可說：「是上帝在誘惑我。」因為上帝不受邪惡的誘惑，也不誘惑人。

倘若你伸手毀壞他擁有的一切，他必當面褻瀆你。」耶和華對撒旦說：「好吧，他的一切都在你手中，但不可傷害他。」撒旦便從耶和華面前退去。

「我是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。常在我裡面的，我也常在他裡面，他就會多結果子，因為你們離開了我什麼都不能做。

鼎煉銀，爐煉金，耶和華試煉人心。

然而，祂來臨的日子，誰能承受得了呢？祂出現的時候，誰能站立得住呢？因為祂像煉金之火，又像漂白衣裳的鹼。祂要坐下來，像煉淨銀子的人那樣潔淨利未的子孫，像熬煉金銀一樣熬煉他們，使他們憑公義向耶和華獻祭。

那時，巴比倫王——巴拉但的兒子米羅達·巴拉但聽說希西迦患病、後來痊癒，便派人送去書信和禮物。希西迦欣然接見使者，讓他們觀看國庫裡的金銀、香料、珍貴膏油、所有兵器和一切寶物。希西迦把宮中及國內的一切都給他們看。以賽亞先知來見希西迦王，問他：「這些人說了些什麼？他們從哪裡來？」希西迦答道：「他們從遙遠的巴比倫來。」以賽亞問：「他們在你宮中看見了什麼？」希西迦答道：「他們看到了我宮中的一切。我把國庫裡的一切都給他們看了。」以賽亞對希西迦說：「你聽著，萬軍之耶和華說，『終有一天，你王宮中的一切和你祖先積攢到現在的一切，必一件不留地被擄到巴比倫。這是耶和華說的。你的子孫當中必有人被擄去，在巴比倫王的宮中做太監。』」希西迦對以賽亞說：「耶和華藉你說的話很好。」因為他想：「我有生之年將平安穩妥。」

我必使這三分之一的人受到火一般的考驗；我必像熬煉銀子一樣熬煉他們，像試煉金子一樣試煉他們。他們必呼求我的名，我必回應他們。我必說，『這是我的子民。』他們必說，『耶和華是我們的上帝。』」

她喊道：「參孫，非利士人來捉你了！」參孫醒來，心想：「我要像前幾次一樣掙脫捆綁。」他卻不知道耶和華已經離開他了。

希西迦問以賽亞：「有什麼兆頭證明耶和華要醫治我，三天後我可以上耶和華的殿呢？」以賽亞說：「耶和華要給你一個兆頭，證明祂言出必行。你要日影前進十度還是後退十度呢？」希西迦說：「日影前進十度容易，讓日影後退十度吧。」以賽亞先知向耶和華祈求，耶和華就使亞哈斯日晷上的日影後退了十度。那時，巴拉但的兒子巴比倫王米羅達·巴拉但聽說希西迦病了，便派人送去書信和禮物。希西迦接見使者，讓他們觀看國庫裡的金銀、香料、珍貴膏油、所有兵器和一切寶物。希西迦把宮中及國內的一切都給他們看。

別掩面不理我，別憤然拒絕你的僕人，你一向是我的幫助。拯救我的上帝啊，別離開我，別撇棄我。

耶和華啊，你洞察我的內心，知道我的一切。我或坐下或起來，你都知道，你從遠處就知道我的心思意念。

你們也不可聽從他們。因為這是你們的上帝耶和華在試驗你們，要看看你們是否全心全意地愛祂。

這樣，你們的信心經過試驗便顯明是真實的，比那經過火煉仍會壞掉的金子更加寶貴，使你們可以在耶穌基督顯現時得到稱讚、榮耀和尊貴。

以賽亞說：「耶和華要給你一個預兆，以證明祂言出必行。祂要使亞哈斯日晷上的日影後退十度。」果然，日影後退了十度。

不要丟棄我，使我離開你，也不要從我身上收回你的聖靈。求你讓我重新享受蒙你拯救的喜樂，賜我一顆樂意順服你的心靈。

耶和華啊，求你按你的應許扶持我，使我存活，不要使我的盼望落空。求你扶持我，使我得救，我要時刻默想你的律例。

耶和華問道：「你注意到我的僕人約伯了嗎？世上沒有人像他那樣純全正直，敬畏我，遠離罪惡。雖然你鼓動我無緣無故地攻擊他、毀滅他，他仍然持守自己的純正。」撒旦回答說：「人會以皮換皮，為了保全生命，情願捨棄一切。倘若你伸手傷害他的骨和肉，他必當面褻瀆你。」耶和華說：「好吧，他在你手中，但要留他一命。」

上帝啊，求你鑒察我，好知道我的內心；求你試驗我，好知道我的心思。求你看看我裡面是否有邪惡，引導我走永恆的道路。
