Then Hezekiah repented of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the Lord’s wrath did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.

Then Hezekiah had a change of heart. He was sorry he had been proud. The people of Jerusalem were also sorry they had sinned. So the Lord wasn’t angry with them as long as Hezekiah was king.

But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself and repented of his pride, as did the people of Jerusalem. So the Lord’s anger did not fall on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart— he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem— so the LORD’s wrath didn’t come on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that Yahweh’s wrath didn’t come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

“在犹大王希西家的日子，摩利沙人弥迦对犹大的众民说预言：‘万军之耶和华这样说：锡安要像田地被耕犁，耶路撒冷必成为废墟，这殿的山必变为杂树丛生的高冈。’犹大王希西家和犹大众人可曾把他处死呢？希西家不是敬畏耶和华，求他开恩，以致耶和华回心转意，没有把他所说的灾祸降在他们身上吗？但我们现在竟自招大祸。”

玛拿西在急难的时候，就恳求耶和华他的神，并且在他列祖的神面前非常谦卑。

因为你听了我指着这地方和这里的居民所说的话，就心里感动，在神面前谦卑；你既然在我的面前谦卑，又撕裂衣服，在我的面前哭泣，所以我就垂听你的祷告；这是耶和华的宣告。我必使你归到你的列祖那里去，你必平平安安归入你的坟墓。我所要降在这地方和这地上的居民身上的一切灾祸，你必不会亲眼看见。’”他们就把这番话回覆王去了。

你们务要在主面前谦卑，他就使你们高升。

“你看见了亚哈在我面前怎样谦卑自己，因为他在我面前谦卑自己，所以他还在世的日子，我必不降这灾祸；到他儿子的日子，我必降这灾祸与他的家。”

你要对他说：‘耶和华这样说：你杀了人，又占有他的产业吗？’你又要对他说：‘耶和华这样说：狗在什么地方舔拿伯的血，也必在什么地方舔你的血。’”

他的祷告，神怎样应允他的恳求，他谦卑下来以前的一切罪恶和过犯，以及他在什么地方建筑邱坛，设立亚舍拉和偶像，都记在先见（按照《马索拉文本》的绝大部分文本，“先见”作“何赛”，原文与“先见”相似；现参照另一份文本和《七十士译本》翻译）的言行录上。

以赛亚对希西家说：“你要听耶和华的话：‘看哪，日子快到，那时你宫中的一切和你的祖先所积存直到今日的一切，都要被掠到巴比伦去，没有一样留下。’这是耶和华说的。并且你的众子中，就是由你所出，你所生的，有一部分要被掳去。他们要在巴比伦王的王宫中当太监。”希西家对以赛亚说：“你所说耶和华的话很好。”他心里说：“在我的日子有和平和安全不是很好吗？”

“那时他们就会承认自己的罪孽和他们祖先的罪孽，就是他们对我不忠的过犯，又承认因为行事与我的心意相违，以致我也与他们作对，把他们带到他们的仇敌之地。如果他们未受割礼的心这样谦卑下来，情愿接受他们罪孽的刑罚，

他没有在耶和华面前谦卑，像他父亲玛拿西谦卑一样；这亚们所犯的罪过越来越多。

看哪！日子必到，你家中所有的，以及你列祖所积蓄到今日的，都要被带到巴比伦去，一样也不留，这是耶和华说的。从你所出的众子，就是你所生的，其中必有被掳去的，在巴比伦王宫里作太监。”希西家对以赛亚说：“你所说耶和华的话不错呀！”因为他心里想：“在我有生之日，必有平安和稳固。”
