難道你們不知道我和我的祖先怎樣對付列國嗎？列國的神明哪個能從我手中救自己的國家呢？

我与我列祖向列邦所行的，你们岂不知道吗？列邦的神何尝能救自己的国脱离我手呢？

我与我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你们岂不知道吗？列邦的神明何尝能救自己的国脱离我的手呢？

难道你们不知道我和我的祖先怎样对付列国吗？列国的神明哪个能从我手中救自己的国家呢？

我和我列祖向各地的民族所行的，你们不知道吗？各地列国的神能拯救他们的国脱离我的手吗？

我與我列祖向列邦所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神何嘗能救自己的國脫離我手呢？

我與我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神明何嘗能救自己的國脫離我的手呢？

我和我列祖向各地的民族所行的，你們不知道嗎？各地列國的神能拯救他們的國脫離我的手嗎？

我和我列祖向四圍各地萬族之民所行的、你們不知道麼？各地列國的神何嘗真能援救他們本地脫離我的手呢？

我與列祖何以待列邦之民、爾豈不知乎、列邦之神、能救其國脫於我手乎、

我與列祖、滅四方民、爾豈不知乎、列邦之上帝、豈能救其國、脫於我手乎。

“ Do you not know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to deliver their land from my hand?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and the kings who ruled before me have done? Don’t you know what we’ve done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to save their lands from my power?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

“ Surely you must realize what I and the other kings of Assyria before me have done to all the people of the earth! Were any of the gods of those nations able to rescue their people from my power?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have any of the national gods of the lands been able to rescue their land from my power?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to save their land from my hand?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any wise able to deliver their land out of my hand?

“‘ Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have any of the national gods of the lands been able to deliver their land from my power?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of[ other] lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?

Are you not aware of what I and my predecessors have done to all the nations of the surrounding lands? Have the gods of the surrounding lands actually been able to rescue their lands from my power?

Don’t you know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any way able to deliver their land out of my hand?

有哪個國家的神明曾經從亞述王手中救他的國家嗎？哈馬、亞珥拔的神明在哪裡呢？西法瓦音、希拿和以瓦的神明又在哪裡呢？他們從我手中救出撒瑪利亞了嗎？這些國家的神明哪個從我手中救了自己的國家呢？難道耶和華能從我手中救耶路撒冷嗎？』」

不要恐懼，不要害怕，我不是早已告訴過你們嗎？你們是我的證人。除我以外還有真神嗎？沒有，沒有別的磐石，一個也沒有。』」製造偶像的真是無用，他們珍愛的偶像毫無價值。拜神像的人目盲眼瞎，愚昧無知，自找羞辱。製造神像、雕刻無益偶像的是誰？

我們的上帝高居在天，按自己的旨意行事。他們的神像不過是人用金銀造的。它們有口不能言，有眼不能看，有耳不能聽，有鼻不能聞，有手不能摸，有腳不能走，有喉嚨也不能發聲。那些製造它們、信靠它們的人也會和它們一樣。

論到吃獻給偶像的祭物，我們知道世上的偶像算不得什麼，只有一位上帝，此外別無他神。

你肯定聽過亞述諸王掃滅列國的事，難道你能倖免嗎？我先祖毀滅了歌散、哈蘭、利色和提·拉撒的伊甸人，這些國家的神明救得了他們嗎？哈馬王、亞珥拔王、西法瓦音城的王、希拿王和以瓦王如今在哪裡呢？」

以色列王比加執政期間，亞述王提革拉·毗列色來犯，奪取了以雲、亞伯·伯·瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯和夏瑣，佔領了基列、加利利及拿弗他利全境，把那裡的居民擄往亞述。

迦勒挪豈不是和迦基米施一樣嗎？哈馬豈不是和亞珥拔一樣嗎？撒瑪利亞豈不是和大馬士革一樣嗎？它們不是都被我征服了嗎？這些國家都在我的手中，他們雕刻的偶像不勝過耶路撒冷和撒瑪利亞的偶像嗎？

可是你們都看到了，也聽見了，那個保羅在以弗所和亞細亞全境說服、誤導了許多人，說什麼人手所造的不是神。

你們要這樣對他們說：「那些神明沒有創造天地，它們將從天下消亡。」耶和華施展大能，用智慧創造大地和世界，巧妙地鋪展穹蒼。

耶和華啊，亞述諸王確實掃滅列國，使其土地荒涼，把他們的神像丟進火中燒毀。因為那些神像只是人用木頭石頭製造的，根本不是神。我們的上帝耶和華啊，現在求你從亞述王手中拯救我們，讓天下萬國都知道唯有你是耶和華。」

耶和華啊，亞述諸王確實掃滅列國，使其土地荒涼，把列國的神像丟在火中。因為那些神像只是人用木頭石頭製造的，根本不是神。我們的上帝耶和華啊，現在求你從亞述王手中拯救我們，讓天下萬國都知道唯有你是耶和華。」

因為他有上帝所賜的大權，各族、各邦、各語種的人都在他面前戰抖，充滿恐懼。他操生殺大權，可隨意擢升、罷黜。

亞述王攻打以色列全境，並圍困撒瑪利亞三年。何細亞執政第九年，撒瑪利亞淪陷。亞述王把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘、歌散的哈博河一帶以及瑪代人的各城。

但雅各的上帝截然不同，祂是萬物的創造者，被稱為「萬軍之耶和華」，以色列是祂的子民。

現在我尼布甲尼撒頌讚、尊崇、敬奉天上的王，因為祂的作為公正，祂行事公平，能夠貶抑行為驕傲的人。」

我奪取列國的財物，好像探囊取物；我征服天下，不過是手到擒來；無人反抗，無人吭聲。」

我先祖毀滅了歌散、哈蘭、利色和提·拉撒的伊甸人，這些國家的神明救得了他們嗎？哈馬王、亞珥拔王、西法瓦音城的王、希拿王和以瓦王如今在哪裡呢？」

他把耶路撒冷的上帝與世間人手所造的神像相提並論。

說：「這宏偉的巴比倫豈不是我用大能建立為京都，以顯我的威嚴和榮耀嗎？」
