Didn’t Hezekiah himself remove his high places and his altars and say to Judah and Jerusalem,“ You must worship before one altar, and you must burn incense on it”?

Did not Hezekiah himself remove this god’s high places and altars, saying to Judah and Jerusalem,‘ You must worship before one altar and burn sacrifices on it’?

Didn’t Hezekiah himself remove your god’s high places and altars? Didn’t Hezekiah say to the people of Judah and Jerusalem,“ You must worship at one altar. You must burn sacrifices on it”?

Has not this same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars and commanded Judah and Jerusalem,“ Before one altar you shall worship, and on it you shall burn your sacrifices”?

Don’t you realize that Hezekiah is the very person who destroyed all the Lord’s shrines and altars? He commanded Judah and Jerusalem to worship only at the altar at the Temple and to offer sacrifices on it alone.

Is it not the same Hezekiah who removed His high places and His altars, and said to Judah and Jerusalem,“ You shall worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn incense”?

Has not the same Hezekiah taken away His high places and His altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying,“ You shall worship before one altar and burn incense on it”?

Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and upon it shall ye burn incense?

Hezekiah is the one who eliminated the LORD’s high places and altars and then told Judah and Jerusalem,“ At one altar you must worship and offer sacrifices.”

Hasn’t the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying,‘ You shall worship before one altar, and you shall burn incense on it?’

When all this was completed, all Israel who had attended went out to the cities of Judah and broke up the sacred pillars, chopped down the Asherah poles, and tore down the high places and altars throughout Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, to the last one. Then all the Israelites returned to their cities, each to his own possession.

“ You are to make an altar for the burning of incense; make it of acacia wood.It must be square, eighteen inches long and eighteen inches wide; it must be thirty-six inches high. Its horns must be of one piece with it.Overlay its top, all around its sides, and its horns with pure gold; make a gold molding all around it.Make two gold rings for it under the molding on two of its sides; put these on opposite sides of it to be holders for the poles to carry it with.Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.“ You are to place the altar in front of the curtain by the ark of the testimony— in front of the mercy seat that is over the testimony— where I will meet with you.

He removed the high places, shattered the sacred pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake that Moses made, for until then the Israelites were burning incense to it. It was called Nehushtan.

Suppose you say to me,‘ We rely on the LORD our God.’ Isn’t he the one whose high places and altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem,‘ You are to worship at this altar’?

Moses installed the gold altar in the tent of meeting, in front of the curtain,and burned fragrant incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded him.He put up the screen at the entrance to the tabernacle.He placed the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered the burnt offering and the grain offering on it, just as the LORD had commanded him.

“ You are to construct the altar of acacia wood. The altar must be square, 7½ feet long, and 7½ feet wide; it must be 4½ feet high.Make horns for it on its four corners; the horns are to be of one piece. Overlay it with bronze.Make its pots for removing ashes, and its shovels, basins, meat forks, and firepans; make all its utensils of bronze.Construct a grate for it of bronze mesh, and make four bronze rings on the mesh at its four corners.Set it below, under the altar’s ledge, so that the mesh comes halfway up the altar.Then make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with bronze.The poles are to be inserted into the rings so that the poles are on two sides of the altar when it is carried.Construct the altar with boards so that it is hollow. They are to make it just as it was shown to you on the mountain.

Be careful not to offer your burnt offerings in all the sacred places you see.You must offer your burnt offerings only in the place the LORD chooses in one of your tribes, and there you must do everything I command you.

“ But you are to take the holy offerings you have and your vow offerings and go to the place the LORD chooses.Present the meat and blood of your burnt offerings on the altar of the LORD your God. The blood of your other sacrifices is to be poured out beside the altar of the LORD your God, but you may eat the meat.

Suppose you say to me,“ We rely on the LORD our God.” Isn’t he the one whose high places and altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and to Jerusalem,“ You must worship at this altar in Jerusalem”?’

He made a bronze altar 30 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 15 feet high.

Solomon also made all the equipment in the LORD’s temple: the gold altar; the gold table that the Bread of the Presence was placed on;
