但祭司人数太少，剥不完燔祭牲的皮，于是他们的亲族利未人就来帮助他们，直到献完燔祭，并且别的祭司也洁净了自己，因为利未人比祭司更诚心洁净自己。

约西亚从自己的产业中，捐出三万只绵羊羔和山羊羔，以及三千头公牛，赐给所有在场的人做逾越节的祭牲。他的众官员也自愿为民众、祭司和利未人捐献。管理上帝殿的希勒迦、撒迦利亚和耶歇献出两千六百只羊羔和三百头牛，给祭司做逾越节的祭牲。

因此圣经上说：“祂升上高天时，带着许多俘虏，将恩赐赏给众人。”

君王要在节期、朔日、安息日等以色列人一切的节期献上燔祭、素祭和奠祭。他要预备赎罪祭、素祭、燔祭和平安祭的祭物，为以色列人赎罪。

他们不能在一月守节期，因为洁净自己的祭司不够多，民众也没有聚集在耶路撒冷。

而且，我因为爱慕我上帝的殿，除了预备以上物品外，还把自己珍藏的金银献上，用来建造我上帝的殿。我献上一百吨俄斐金、二百四十吨纯银，用来贴殿墙，供匠人制作金器银器。今天，有谁乐意向耶和华奉献？”结果，各族长、以色列各支派的首领、千夫长、百夫长和负责王室事务的官员都乐意奉献，他们为上帝的殿奉献了一百七十吨金子，三百四十吨银子，六百二十吨铜，三千四百吨铁。有宝石的人都把宝石交到耶和华殿的库房，由革顺人耶歇保管。因为他们诚心诚意地把东西献给上帝，百姓欢喜不已，大卫王也非常欢喜。
