或是受膏的祭司犯了罪，使百姓陷在罪裏，他就當為自己所犯的罪，把沒有殘疾的公牛犢獻給耶和華為贖罪祭。他要把公牛牽到會幕的門口，在耶和華面前按手在牛的頭上，把牛宰於耶和華面前。受膏的祭司要取些公牛的血，帶到會幕那裏。祭司要把手指蘸在血中，在耶和華面前對着聖所的幔子彈血七次，又要把一些血抹在會幕內，耶和華面前香壇的四個翹角上，再把公牛其餘的血全倒在會幕門口燔祭壇的底座上；又要取出這頭贖罪祭公牛所有的脂肪，就是包着內臟的脂肪和內臟上所有的脂肪，兩個腎和腎上的脂肪，即靠近腎兩旁的脂肪，以及肝上的網油，連同腎一起取下，正如從平安祭的牛身上所取的，祭司要把這些燒在燔祭壇上。但公牛的皮和所有的肉，以及頭、腿、內臟、糞，就是全公牛，要搬到營外清潔的地方倒灰之處，放在柴上用火焚燒。「以色列全會眾若犯了錯，在任何事上犯了一條耶和華所吩咐的禁令，而有了罪，會眾看不出這隱藏的事；他們一知道犯了罪，就要獻一頭公牛犢為贖罪祭，牽牠到會幕前。

現在你們要為自己取七頭公牛、七隻公羊，到我的僕人約伯那裏去，為自己獻上燔祭，我的僕人約伯就為你們祈禱。我必悅納他，不按你們的愚妄處置你們。你們議論我，不如我的僕人約伯說的正確。」

巴蘭對巴勒說：「你要在這裏為我築七座壇，又要在這裏為我預備七頭公牛、七隻公羊。」

神使那無罪的，替我們成為罪，好使我們在他裏面成為神的義。

「你們若犯了錯，不遵守耶和華所吩咐摩西的這一切命令，就是耶和華藉摩西一切所命令你們的，從耶和華命令的那日直到你們的世世代代，會眾因沒有察覺而犯了無心之過，全會眾就要將一頭公牛犢作燔祭，遵照典章把素祭和澆酒祭一同獻給耶和華為馨香的祭，又要獻一隻公山羊作贖罪祭。

神賜恩給抬耶和華約櫃的利未人，他們就獻上七頭公牛、七隻公羊。

從被擄之地歸回的人向以色列的神獻燔祭，為以色列眾人獻十二頭公牛、九十六隻公綿羊、七十七隻小綿羊，又獻十二隻公山羊作贖罪祭，這些全都是獻給耶和華的燔祭。

於是巴勒領巴蘭到了瑣腓的田野，上了毗斯迦山頂，築了七座壇，在每座壇上獻一頭公牛、一隻公羊。

節期的七天內，每天他要預備無殘疾的七頭公牛、七隻公綿羊，給耶和華為燔祭；每天又要預備一隻公山羊為贖罪祭。
