for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

saying:“ O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has mounted up to the heavens.

And I am exceedingly angry with the nations that are at ease; for while I was angry but a little, they furthered the disaster.

I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste,’therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and will bring up many nations against you, as the sea brings up its waves.

Woe to Assyria, the rod of my anger; the staff in their hands is my fury!Against a godless nation I send him, and against the people of my wrath I command him, to take spoil and seize plunder, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.But he does not so intend, and his heart does not so think; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off nations not a few;

For they persecute him whom you have struck down, and they recount the pain of those you have wounded.

I did not sit in the company of revelers, nor did I rejoice; I sat alone, because your hand was upon me, for you had filled me with indignation.Why is my pain unceasing, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will you be to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail?

Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned in safety to his house in Jerusalem.But Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat,“ Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, wrath has gone out against you from the Lord.

Therefore the Lord was angry with Amaziah and sent to him a prophet, who said to him,“ Why have you sought the gods of a people who did not deliver their own people from your hand?”But as he was speaking, the king said to him,“ Have we made you a royal counselor? Stop! Why should you be struck down?” So the prophet stopped, but said,“ I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”

And the Lord said,“ What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to me from the ground.

And behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel and said,“ Thus says the Lord, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will give it into your hand this day, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
