The men designated by name took the prisoners, and from the plunder they clothed all who were naked. They provided them with clothes and sandals, food and drink, and healing balm. All those who were weak they put on donkeys. So they took them back to their fellow Israelites at Jericho, the City of Palms, and returned to Samaria.

Azariah, Berekiah, Jehizkiah and Amasa received the prisoners. From the goods that had been taken, they gave clothes to everyone who was naked. They gave them clothes, sandals, food, drink and healing lotion. They put all the weak people on donkeys. They took them back to their relatives at Jericho. Then they returned to Samaria. Jericho was also known as the City of Palm Trees.

And the men who have been mentioned by name rose and took the captives, and with the spoil they clothed all who were naked among them. They clothed them, gave them sandals, provided them with food and drink, and anointed them, and carrying all the feeble among them on donkeys, they brought them to their kinsfolk at Jericho, the city of palm trees. They brought them back to their brothers at Jericho, the city of the date palm trees, and then returned to Samaria.

於是，以法蓮人的幾個族長－就是約哈難的兒子亞撒利雅、米實利末的兒子比利家、沙龍的兒子耶希西家、哈得萊的兒子亞瑪撒－起來攔擋出兵回來的人，

若是弟兄或是姊妹，赤身露體，又缺了日用的飲食；你們中間有人對他們說：「平平安安地去吧！願你們穿得暖，吃得飽」，卻不給他們身體所需用的，這有甚麼益處呢？

又有行善的名聲，就如養育兒女，接待遠人，洗聖徒的腳，救濟遭難的人，竭力行各樣善事。

所以，「你的仇敵若餓了，就給他吃，若渴了，就給他喝；因為你這樣行就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。」你不可為惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。

耶穌上了岸，就有城裏一個被鬼附着的人迎面而來。這個人許久不穿衣服，不住房子，只住在墳塋裏。

「只是我告訴你們這聽道的人，你們的仇敵，要愛他！恨你們的，要待他好！

彼得就起身和他們同去；到了，便有人領他上樓。眾寡婦都站在彼得旁邊哭，拿多加與她們同在時所做的裏衣外衣給他看。

我們堅固的人應該擔代不堅固人的軟弱，不求自己的喜悅。

因為我餓了，你們給我吃，渴了，你們給我喝；我作客旅，你們留我住；我赤身露體，你們給我穿；我病了，你們看顧我；我在監裏，你們來看我。』義人就回答說：『主啊，我們甚麼時候見你餓了，給你吃，渴了，給你喝？甚麼時候見你作客旅，留你住，或是赤身露體，給你穿？又甚麼時候見你病了，或是在監裏，來看你呢？』王要回答說：『我實在告訴你們，這些事你們既做在我這弟兄中一個最小的身上，就是做在我身上了。』王又要向那左邊的說：『你們這被咒詛的人，離開我！進入那為魔鬼和他的使者所預備的永火裏去！因為我餓了，你們不給我吃，渴了，你們不給我喝；我作客旅，你們不留我住；我赤身露體，你們不給我穿；我病了，我在監裏，你們不來看顧我。』他們也要回答說：『主啊，我們甚麼時候見你餓了，或渴了，或作客旅，或赤身露體，或病了，或在監裏，不伺候你呢？』王要回答說：『我實在告訴你們，這些事你們既不做在我這弟兄中一個最小的身上，就是不做在我身上了。』

眾人出來要看是甚麼事；到了耶穌那裏，看見鬼所離開的那人，坐在耶穌腳前，穿着衣服，心裏明白過來，他們就害怕。

造我在腹中的，不也是造他嗎？將他與我摶在腹中的豈不是一位嗎？我若不容貧寒人得其所願，或叫寡婦眼中失望，或獨自吃我一點食物，孤兒沒有與我同吃；（從幼年時孤兒與我同長，好像父子一樣；我從出母腹就扶助寡婦。）我若見人因無衣死亡，或見窮乏人身無遮蓋；我若不使他因我羊的毛得暖，為我祝福；我若在城門口見有幫助我的，舉手攻擊孤兒；情願我的肩頭從缺盆骨脫落，我的膀臂從羊矢骨折斷。因神降的災禍使我恐懼；因他的威嚴，我不能妄為。

凡有世上財物的，看見弟兄窮乏，卻塞住憐恤的心，愛神的心怎能存在他裏面呢？小子們哪，我們相愛，不要只在言語和舌頭上，總要在行為和誠實上。
