Although the Lord sent prophets to the people to bring them back to him, and though they testified against them, they would not listen.

The Lord sent prophets to the people to bring them back to him. The prophets told the people what they were doing wrong. But the people wouldn’t listen.

耶和華屢次差遣祂的僕人——眾先知警告你們，你們卻充耳不聞，毫不理會。他們對你們說，『要改邪歸正，停止作惡，以便可以永遠住在耶和華賜給你們和你們祖先的土地上。

「我的子民啊，要留心聽我的話；我的國民啊，要側耳聽我說。因為我必賜下訓誨，我的公正必成為萬民的光。

你們當中誰肯專心聽呢？以後誰肯留心傾聽呢？

因為這些人心靈麻木，耳朵發背，眼睛昏花，以致眼睛看不見，耳朵聽不見，心裡不明白，無法回心轉意，得不到我的醫治。』「但你們的眼睛是有福的，因為看得見；你們的耳朵也是有福的，因為聽得見。

不聽從我屢次派我的僕人——眾先知傳給你們的話，

從你們的祖先離開埃及那天起，一直到今天，我日復一日地差遣我的僕人——眾先知到你們那裡，但你們掩耳不聽，頑固不化，比你們的祖先更邪惡。

因為祂是我們的上帝，我們是祂照管的子民，是祂牧放的羊群。你們今日若聽見祂的聲音，不可像你們祖先在米利巴，在曠野的瑪撒那樣心裡頑固。

「亞伯拉罕說，『如果他們不聽從摩西和眾先知的話，即使一個人從死裡復活，他們也不會信服。』」

「然而，他們不順從你，背叛你，把你的律法拋在背後，又殺掉勸誡他們歸向你的眾先知，大大褻瀆了你。

有耳朵的，都應當聽。」

你們要到我這裡來，側耳聽我的話，就必得到生命。我要跟你們立永久的約，將應許給大衛的可靠恩福賜給你們。

「你們有禍了，你們為先知修造墳墓，而他們正是被你們祖先殺害的！所以你們是見證人，你們讚同祖先的行為，因為他們殺了先知，你們為先知造墳墓。因此，充滿智慧的上帝說，『我要差遣先知和使徒到他們那裡，有些要被殺害，有些要遭迫害』，使創世以來，自亞伯一直到在祭壇和聖所之間被殺的撒迦利亞等眾先知的血債，都由這個世代承擔。我實在告訴你們，這些罪責都要由這個世代承擔。

你們要側耳聽我的聲音，留心聽我的話語。

他們祖先的上帝耶和華因為憐愛祂的子民和祂的居所，就不斷派使者來勸告他們。他們卻嘲弄耶和華上帝的使者，藐視祂的話，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的憤怒臨到祂的子民身上，無可挽救。

接著耶穌對眾人講了個比喻：「有人開墾了一個葡萄園，把園子租給幾個佃戶，就出遠門了。到了收穫的季節，他差奴僕去葡萄園向佃戶收取他應得的收成，但那些佃戶卻把奴僕揍了一頓，使他空手而歸。園主又派另一個奴僕去，那些佃戶照樣將他毆打並羞辱一番，使他空手而歸。園主又派第三個奴僕去，他們又把他打傷，拋在園外。「園主說，『我該怎樣辦呢？不如叫我所疼愛的兒子去吧。他們大概會尊敬他。』「豈料那些佃戶看見來人是園主的兒子，便彼此商量說，『這個人是產業繼承人，我們把他殺掉，這葡萄園就歸我們了！』於是他們把園主的兒子拖到葡萄園外殺了。「那麼，園主會怎樣處治他們呢？
