They abandoned the temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and worshiped Asherah poles and idols. Because of their guilt, God’s anger came on Judah and Jerusalem.

They turned their backs on the temple of the Lord, the God of their people. They worshiped poles made to honor the female god named Asherah. They also worshiped statues of other gods. Because Judah and Jerusalem were guilty of sin, God became angry with them.

And they abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.

They decided to abandon the Temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.

希西家却没有照他所蒙的恩回报，因他心里骄傲，所以愤怒要临到他，临到犹大和耶路撒冷。

因为他们在各高冈上，各青翠树下筑丘坛，立柱像和亚舍拉。

犹大的领袖如同挪移地界的人，我必把我的愤怒如水倾倒在他们身上。以法莲因喜爱遵从荒谬的命令，就受欺压，在审判中被压碎。

你反倒行恶，比在你之前所有的人更严重；你离开了我，为自己立了别神，铸了偶像，惹我发怒，将我丢在背后。

你要拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的柱像，砍断他们的亚舍拉。

我必向以法莲如狮子，向犹大家如少壮狮子。我要撕裂，并且离去，我必夺去，无人搭救。

不要被人虚浮的话欺骗了，因这些事，神的愤怒必临到那些悖逆的人。

众祭司长和百姓也多多犯罪，效法列国一切可憎的事，玷污耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。耶和华—他们列祖的神因为爱惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他们。他们却嘲笑神的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华向他的百姓大发烈怒，甚至无法可救。

他重新建筑他父亲希西家所拆毁的丘坛，为诸巴力筑坛，造亚舍拉，又敬拜天上的万象，事奉它们。他在耶和华殿中筑坛，耶和华曾指着这殿说：“我的名必永远在耶路撒冷。”他在耶和华殿的两个院子为天上的万象筑坛，并在欣嫩子谷使他的儿子经火，又观星象，行法术，行邪术，求问招魂的和行巫术的，多行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，惹他发怒。他在神殿内立雕刻的偶像；神曾对大卫和他儿子所罗门说：“我在以色列众支派中所选择的耶路撒冷和这殿，必立我的名，直到永远。

反而行以色列诸王的道，使犹大和耶路撒冷居民行淫，像亚哈家行淫一样，又杀了你父家比你好的那些兄弟。

耶和华的怒气又向以色列发作，激起大卫来对付他们，说：“去，数点以色列人和犹大人。”

所罗门年老的时候，他的妻妾诱惑他的心去随从别神，不像他父亲大卫以纯正的心顺服耶和华—他的神。所罗门随从西顿人的女神亚斯她录和亚扪人可憎的米勒公。

以色列人选择新的诸神，战争就临到城门。以色列四万人中，看得见盾牌枪矛吗？

我必伸手攻击犹大和耶路撒冷所有的居民；从这地方剪除剩下的巴力、事奉偶像之祭司的名字与祭司；还有那些在屋顶拜天上万象的，那些敬拜耶和华指着他起誓，却又指着米勒公起誓的；并那些转去不跟从耶和华，不寻求耶和华，也不求问他的。”
