They abandoned the temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and worshiped Asherah poles and idols. Because of their guilt, God’s anger came on Judah and Jerusalem.

They turned their backs on the temple of the Lord, the God of their people. They worshiped poles made to honor the female god named Asherah. They also worshiped statues of other gods. Because Judah and Jerusalem were guilty of sin, God became angry with them.

And they abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.

They decided to abandon the Temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.

And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

先見哈拿尼子耶戶出迓曰、爾助惡人、愛憾耶和華者、宜乎、因此、耶和華之怒及爾、

厥後、約阿施有意重修耶和華室、

昔謝拉裔亞干、豈非於當滅之物干罪、致怒及於以色列會眾乎、是其人之罪、不獨亡一人也、○

曰、勿攜所虜之人入此、蓋爾所謀、乃使我獲罪於耶和華、益我罪過、我罪維大、烈怒及於以色列矣、

故耶和華之怒、及於猶大與耶路撒冷、使之飄搖、令人驚駭嗤笑、如爾目擊、

惟希西家不報所受之恩、中心高傲、以是震怒將及於彼、與猶大暨耶路撒冷、

在高岡之上、綠樹之下、建崇邱、作柱像木偶、

猶大牧伯、如遷移界址者然、我將傾怒於彼、有若傾水、以法蓮甘從虛妄、是以受壓制、被屈抑、

乃行惡較前人尤甚、立他神、鑄偶像、激我之怒、棄而背我、

必毀其壇、碎其柱像、斫其木偶、

我將於以法蓮如獅、於猶大家如稚獅、攫裂之而去、奪取之而往、無能救援、

勿為人之虛言所欺、緣此、上帝之怒、臨於悖逆之人、

且諸祭司長與民眾、大干罪戾、從異邦可憎之事、污耶和華在耶路撒冷區別為聖之室、其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜恤其民、與其居所、夙興遣使以戒之、惟彼訕笑上帝之使、藐視其言、譏其先知、致耶和華之怒及於其民、無可救治、

復建其父希西家所毀之崇邱、為巴力建壇、作木偶、崇拜天象、而奉事之、在耶和華室築壇、昔耶和華指此室而言曰、我名必永在耶路撒冷、又在耶和華室二院中、為天象築壇、並在欣嫩子谷、使其子女經火、又行卜筮、用法術、行邪術、與憑鬼者及巫覡交、多行耶和華所惡、以激其怒、又置所造雕像於上帝室、昔上帝諭大衛、及其子所羅門曰、此室及耶路撒冷、乃我於以色列支派中所簡者、必永寄我名於其中、

乃從以色列列王之道、使猶大人及耶路撒冷居民狥欲、如亞哈家然、又戮爾父家諸弟、愈於爾者、

耶和華復怒以色列人、遂感大衛、命人往核以色列猶大二族、

所羅門年邁時、后妃誘之、附於他神、不專心從其上帝耶和華、如父大衛、乃從西頓人之女神亞斯他錄、及亞捫人可憎之神米勒公、

民簡新神、戰及邑門、以色列族四萬人中、干戈無存、

我必舉手於猶大、及耶路撒冷居民、且在斯土、滅絕所遺之巴力、與基瑪琳之名、暨厥祭司、以及凡在屋巔、崇拜天象者、並崇拜耶和華、指耶和華而誓、亦指瑪勒堪而誓者、與背耶和華、而不從之者、及不尋求耶和華、而不訪之者、○
