They abandoned the temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and worshiped Asherah poles and idols. Because of their guilt, God’s anger came on Judah and Jerusalem.

They turned their backs on the temple of the Lord, the God of their people. They worshiped poles made to honor the female god named Asherah. They also worshiped statues of other gods. Because Judah and Jerusalem were guilty of sin, God became angry with them.

And they abandoned the house of the Lord, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.

They decided to abandon the Temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.

先见哈拿尼的儿子耶户出来迎见约沙法王，对他说：“你怎能帮助恶人，喜爱那恨恶耶和华的人呢？因此耶和华的忿怒必临到你身上。

此后，约阿施有意重修耶和华的殿，

从前谢拉的曾孙亚干，不是在当毁灭的物上犯了不忠的罪，以致神的忿怒临到以色列全体会众吗？因他的罪孽而死的，还不只他一人呢！’”

对他们说：“你们不可把这些俘虏带进来，因为我们已经得罪了耶和华，你们想增加我们的罪恶和过犯，我们的过犯实在严重，耶和华的震怒临到以色列人身上了。”

因此，耶和华的震怒临到犹大和耶路撒冷的居民身上，使他们成为令人恐惧、惊骇和嗤笑的对象，就像你们亲眼看见的一样。

希西家却没有照着他蒙受的恩惠报答耶和华；因为他心高气傲，所以耶和华的忿怒临到他，以及犹大和耶路撒冷的人身上。

他们又为自己在各高冈上，各茂盛树下建造邱坛、神柱和亚舍拉。

“犹大的领袖，好像挪移地界的人，我要把我的忿怒倾倒在他们身上，如同倒水一样。以法莲受欺压，被审判压碎；因为他们乐意随从人的命令。

你反倒行恶，比那些在你以前的更坏；又去为自己制造了别的神和铸造偶像惹我发怒，把我丢在背后。

他们的祭坛你们却要拆毁，他们的柱像你们要打碎，他们的亚舍拉你们要砍下。

因为我对以法莲要像只猛狮，对犹大家必像头少壮狮子。我要亲自撕裂他们，然后离去；我把他们带走，没有人能搭救。

不要给别人用空言欺骗了你们，正因为这些事，神的震怒必定临到那些悖逆的人。

此外，所有的祭司长和人民也都大大地得罪神，随从列国所行一切可憎的事；他们污秽了耶和华在耶路撒冷分别为圣的殿。耶和华他们列祖的神，因为爱惜自己的子民和居所，就常常差派使者警戒他们。他们却戏弄神的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华的忿怒临到他的子民身上，直到无法挽救。

他重新建造他父亲希西家拆毁的邱坛，又为巴力立坛，制造亚舍拉，并且敬拜和事奉天上的万象。他又在耶和华的殿中筑坛，耶和华曾经指着这殿说：“我的名必永远留在耶路撒冷。”玛拿西在耶和华殿的两院中，为天上的万象筑坛，并且在欣嫩子谷把自己的儿女用火烧为祭，又占卜、行邪术、用法术、交鬼和通灵；作了很多耶和华看为恶的事，惹他发怒。他又把他所做的雕像立在神的殿中，神曾经指着这殿，对大卫和他的儿子所罗门说：“我要在这殿里，和在我从以色列各支派中拣选的耶路撒冷中，立我的名，直到永远。

却随从了以色列诸王的道路，使犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，好像亚哈家行邪淫一样；又杀了你父家比你良善的众兄弟；

耶和华又向以色列人发怒，就激动大卫，使他们受害，说：“你去数点一下以色列和犹大的人数吧！”

所罗门年老的时候，他的妃嫔诱惑他的心偏离了神去随从别的神。他的心不像他的父亲大卫那样完全归于耶和华他的神。因为所罗门随从西顿人的女神亚斯他录，和亚扪人可憎的偶像米勒公。

以色列人选择了新的神，战争就临近城门；那时四万以色列人中，竟不见有一面盾牌、一枝长矛。

我必伸手攻击犹大，攻击耶路撒冷所有的居民。我必从这地方除掉巴力所余下的，除掉拜偶像的祭司的名字，以及耶和华的祭司；就是那些在房顶上敬拜天上万象的，那些敬拜耶和华，指着他起誓，又指着玛勒公起誓的，那些转离不跟从耶和华的，不寻找耶和华，也不求问他的。”
