耶何耶大使王和百姓与耶和华立约，作耶和华的子民，又使王与百姓立约。

我就必坚固你国度的王位，正如我与你父大卫所立的约，说：‘你的子孙必不断有人治理以色列。’

你的家和你的国必在你面前永远坚立，你的王位也必坚定，直到永远。’”

于是以色列的众长老都来到希伯仑见王。大卫在希伯仑，在耶和华面前与他们立约，他们就膏大卫作以色列的王。

他的后裔要存到永远，他的宝座在我面前如太阳，

我就必坚固你在以色列国度的王位，直到永远，正如我应许你父大卫说：‘你的子孙必不断有人坐以色列的王位。’

我也要使他的后裔存到永远，使他的宝座如天之久。

耶何耶大与众百姓，又与王立约，要作耶和华的子民。

于是以色列的众长老都来到希伯仑见王。大卫在希伯仑，在耶和华面前与他们立约，他们就膏大卫作以色列的王，正如耶和华藉撒母耳所说的话。

和他们的弟兄，按着家谱登记，共有九百五十六名；这些人都是族长。祭司中有耶大雅、耶何雅立、雅斤，还有管理神殿的亚撒利雅，亚撒利雅是希勒家的儿子，希勒家是米书兰的儿子，米书兰是撒督的儿子，撒督是米拉约的儿子，米拉约是亚希突的儿子。还有玛基雅的曾孙，巴施户珥的孙子，耶罗罕的儿子亚大雅；又有玛赛，玛赛是亚第业的儿子，亚第业是雅希细拉的儿子，雅希细拉是米书兰的儿子，米书兰是米实利密的儿子，米实利密是音麦的儿子。他们和他们的弟兄都是族长，共有一千七百六十人，都善于做神殿的事工。利未人米拉利的子孙中有哈沙比雅的曾孙，押利甘的孙子，哈述的儿子示玛雅；有拔巴甲、黑勒施、加拉和亚萨的曾孙，细基利的孙子，米迦的儿子玛探雅；又有耶杜顿的曾孙，加拉的孙子，示玛雅的儿子俄巴底，还有以利加拿的孙子，亚撒的儿子比利家。他们都住在尼陀法人的村庄。守卫是沙龙、亚谷、达们、亚希幔和他们的弟兄；沙龙是领袖。从前这些人看守朝东的王门，如今是利未人营中的守卫。可拉的曾孙，以比雅撒的孙子，可利的儿子沙龙，和他父家的弟兄可拉人管理事务，看守会幕的门。他们的祖宗曾管理耶和华的军营，把守营的入口。从前以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈管理他们，耶和华也与他同在。米施利米雅的儿子撒迦利雅是看守会幕门口的。被选作门口守卫的总共有二百一十二名。他们在自己的村庄，按着家谱登记，是大卫和撒母耳先见所派担当这受托之职任的。他们和他们的子孙看守耶和华殿的门，就是会幕的门口。在东西南北，四方都有守卫。他们的弟兄住在村庄，每七日来与他们换班。这些守卫的四个领袖都是利未人，各有受托的职任，看守神殿的房间和宝库。他们住在神殿的四围，受托看守圣殿，负责每日早晨开门。
