亚哈谢的母亲亚她利雅见她儿子死了，就起来剿灭犹大王室所有的后裔。

该隐与他弟弟亚伯说话。二人正在田间时，该隐起来攻击他弟弟亚伯，把他杀了。

不要像该隐；他是属那邪恶者，杀了自己的弟弟。为什么杀了他呢？因为自己的行为是邪恶的，而弟弟的行为是正直的。

这样，上帝报应了亚比米勒向他父亲所做的恶事，就是杀了自己七十个兄弟。示剑人的一切恶事，上帝也都报应在他们头上；耶路巴力的儿子约坦的诅咒都临到他们身上了。

耶户向亚哈家施行惩罚的时候，遇见犹大的众领袖和亚哈谢的侄子们正服事亚哈谢，就把他们都杀了。
