He followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat followed the ways of his father Asa. He didn’t wander away from them. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

He walked in the way of Asa his father and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat was a good king, following the ways of his father, Asa. He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight.

He walked in the ways of Asa his father; he did not turn away from it but did what was right in the LORD’s sight.

He walked in the way of his father Asa and did not deviate from it, doing right in the sight of the Lord.

And he walked in the way of his father Asa, and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.

他口中的话语都是罪恶和诡诈，他不再是明慧的，也不再行善。

耶和华和约沙法同在，因为他遵行了他祖先大卫最初所行的道路，没有寻求巴力。只寻求他父亲的神，遵行神的诫命，没有随从以色列人的行为。因此，耶和华使他统治的国稳固；犹大各地都给他进贡，所以约沙法的财富很多，极有尊荣。他勇敢地遵行耶和华的道路，并且从犹大地中除掉邱坛和亚舍拉。

亚撒行耶和华看为正的事，像他祖大卫一样。

亚撒呼求耶和华他的神说：“耶和华啊，强弱悬殊，除你以外没有别的帮助。耶和华我们的神啊，求你帮助我们。因为我们倚靠你，奉你的名去对抗这大军。耶和华啊，你是我们的神，不要让人胜过你。”于是耶和华在亚撒和犹大人面前，使古实人大败，古实人就逃跑。亚撒和跟随他的人民追赶他们，直到基拉耳；古实人被杀的很多，不能恢复强盛；因为他们在耶和华和他的军队面前被击溃了；犹大人夺取了极多战利品。

因为我谨守了耶和华的道，未曾作恶离开我的神。

那时，先见哈拿尼来见犹大王亚撒，对他说：“因你倚靠亚兰王，没有倚靠耶和华你的神，所以亚兰王的军队才可以脱离你的手。古实人和路比人不是有强大的军队吗？战车和马兵不是极多吗？只因你倚靠耶和华，耶和华就把他们交在你手里。耶和华的眼目遍察全地，一心归向他的，他必以大能扶助他们；你作这事太愚昧了。从今以后，你必常有战争。”于是亚撒对先见发怒，把他囚在监里，因为亚撒为了这事很恼怒他。同时亚撒也压迫人民。亚撒所行的事迹，一生的始末，都记在犹大和以色列诸王记上。亚撒在位第三十九年，患了脚病，病情严重；可是，连他患病的时候，也没有寻求耶和华，只管寻求医生。

亚撒行耶和华他的神看为善为正的事。（本节在《马索拉文本》为14:1）他除掉外族人的祭坛和邱坛，打断神柱，砍下亚舍拉，吩咐犹大人寻求耶和华他们列祖的神，遵行他的律法和诫命。他又在犹大各城中，除掉邱坛和香坛。那时全国在他的统治下享受太平。
