The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

All the surrounding kingdoms began to have respect for God. They had heard how the Lord had fought against Israel’s enemies.

And the fear of God came on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

When all the surrounding kingdoms heard that the Lord himself had fought against the enemies of Israel, the fear of God came over them.

The terror of God was on all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.

For the Lord had made the army of the Arameans hear a sound of chariots, a sound of horses, that is, the sound of a great army; and they said to one another,“ Behold, the king of Israel has hired the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians against us, to attack us!”

Now it came about when all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard how the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the sons of Israel until they had crossed, that their hearts melted, and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the sons of Israel.

and said to the men,“ I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have despaired because of you.For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.When we heard these reports, our hearts melted and no courage remained in anyone any longer because of you; for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth below.

They said to him,“ Your servants have come from a very distant country because of the fame of the Lord your God; for we have heard the report about Him and all that He did in Egypt,and all that He did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon and to Og king of Bashan who was in Ashtaroth.So our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying,‘ Take provisions in your hand for the journey, and go to meet them, and say to them,“ We are your servants; now then, make a covenant with us.” ’

I will send My terror ahead of you, and throw into confusion all the people among whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.
