The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

All the surrounding kingdoms began to have respect for God. They had heard how the Lord had fought against Israel’s enemies.

And the fear of God came on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

When all the surrounding kingdoms heard that the Lord himself had fought against the enemies of Israel, the fear of God came over them.

The terror of God was on all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.

for the Lord had caused the Aramean camp to hear the sound of chariots, horses, and a great army. The Arameans had said to each other,“ The king of Israel must have hired the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Egypt to attack us.”

When all the Amorite kings across the Jordan to the west and all the Canaanite kings near the sea heard how the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, they lost heart and their courage failed because of the Israelites.

and said to them,“ I know that the Lord has given you this land and that the terror of you has fallen on us, and everyone who lives in the land is panicking because of you.For we have heard how the Lord dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two Amorite kings you completely destroyed across the Jordan.When we heard this, we lost heart, and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on earth below.

They replied to him,“ Your servants have come from a far away land because of the reputation of the Lord your God. For we have heard of His fame, and all that He did in Egypt,and all that He did to the two Amorite kings beyond the Jordan— Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan, who was in Ashtaroth.So our elders and all the inhabitants of our land told us,‘ Take provisions with you for the journey; go and meet them and say,“ We are your servants. “ I will cause the people ahead of you to feel terror and throw into confusion all the nations you come to. I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you in retreat.
