看哪！那日子臨近了，事情必定應驗，這就是我所說過的那一天。這是主耶和華的宣告。“‘那時，以色列各城的居民必出來，把武器當柴焚燒，就是大小的盾牌、弓、箭、槍和矛，都當柴焚燒，足有七年的時間。

基甸又對他們說：“我有一個要求：請把你們各人奪得的耳環給我。”原來敵人都戴金耳環，因為他們是以實瑪利人。他們回答：“我們願意給你。”於是鋪開一件外衣，各人把奪得的耳環丟在上面。基甸所要的金耳環，共重約二十公斤金子，此外還有米甸王身上的月牙圈、耳墜和紫紅色的衣服，另外還有駱駝頸項上的鍊子。

他們彼此說：“我們這樣作是不對的。今天是報好消息的日子，我們竟不出聲，如果我們等到早上天亮，我們就算為有罪了。現在，來吧，我們要去通知王家。”他們就去呼喊守城門的，告訴他們說：“我們去過亞蘭人的軍營那裡，看見那裡一個人也沒有，也沒有人聲。只有馬仍拴著，驢仍拴著，帳幕都原封不動。”守城門的就喊叫起來，又往城內給王家報信。王在夜間起來，對他的臣僕說：“我告訴你們亞蘭人對我們所作的是怎麼一回事。他們知道我們鬧饑荒，所以出到軍營外在田野埋伏，心裡說：‘他們必從城裡出來。我們就可以活捉他們，進入城裡去了。’”他的一位臣僕回答，說：“請叫人拉五匹剩下的馬來；看哪，牠們像所有剩下在這裡的以色列人，都要像所有死去的以色列人一樣；讓我們打發人去看看吧。”於是他們取了兩輛戰車和馬匹，王差人去追蹤亞蘭軍，吩咐他們：“去查看吧。”他們就去追蹤亞蘭軍直到約旦河。看哪，沿途堆滿了衣物器具，就是亞蘭人在匆忙逃走時丟棄的。於是使者回去向王報告。眾民就出去，搶掠亞蘭人的軍營。於是三公斤麵粉賣十一克銀子，六公斤大麥也賣十一克銀子，好像耶和華所說的。

無論大小，不分男女，無論是他們搶來的，或是被人擄去的，大衛都奪回來，沒有失落一樣。大衛奪了所有的羊群和牛群，跟從大衛的人把牠們趕到原有的群畜面前，說：“這是大衛的戰利品。”

但每個婦女要向她鄰居的婦女，和寄居在她家中的婦女索取銀器、金器和衣服，要給你們的兒女穿戴；這樣，你們就把埃及人的財物掠奪了。”

摩西對他們說：“你們讓這些婦女存活嗎？

“帶領大軍的君王都逃跑了，逃跑了；住在家中的婦女分得了戰利品。

智慧比紅寶石更寶貴；你一切所喜愛的，都不足與智慧比較。

以色列人照著摩西的話行了，他們向埃及人索取銀器金器和衣服。耶和華使以色列人在埃及人眼前蒙恩，埃及人就給了他們所要求的。這樣，他們就奪去了埃及人的財物。

但靠著愛我們的那一位，我們在這一切事上就得勝有餘了。
