So Jehoshaphat and his men went to carry off their plunder, and they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing and also articles of value— more than they could take away. There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it.

但我有一個要求，請你們把搶來的耳環都給我。」原來米甸人屬於以實瑪利族，都戴金耳環。他們欣然同意，便鋪開一件外衣，各自把搶來的金耳環都放在上面，重約二十公斤。此外，還有米甸王的月牙飾物、耳墜、紫袍以及駱駝頸上的金鏈。

後來，他們彼此說：「我們這樣做不對。今天是個報好消息的日子，我們卻不作聲。若等到天亮，我們會受懲罰的。走，我們給王報信去。」他們就去喊城門守衛，對他們說：「我們到了亞蘭人的營中，裡面不見人影也沒有人聲，只有拴著的馬和驢，帳篷依然在那裡。」城門守衛就高聲宣告消息，有人去稟告王。王連夜起來，對臣僕說：「我告訴你們是怎麼回事。亞蘭人知道我們正鬧饑荒，就故意離開軍營，埋伏在田野，等我們以色列人出城後，好活捉我們，並攻入城中。」一個臣僕說：「不如派人騎著城中僅存的五匹馬出去打探一下。反正他們和城中剩下的以色列人一樣快要死了。」他們預備了兩輛馬車，王便命人出去追蹤亞蘭軍、查明實情。探子一路追到約旦河，沿路看見到處都是亞蘭軍倉皇逃走時丟棄的衣服和裝備，便回去稟告王。於是，民眾出城搶掠亞蘭人的營地。那時，三公斤細麵粉只賣十一克銀子，六公斤大麥也只賣十一克銀子，正如耶和華所言。

他盡數奪回了被擄去的男女老少和財物，也奪了所有的牛羊。他的部下把這些牛羊趕到自己的牲畜前面，說：「這是大衛的戰利品。」

你們的婦女只管向埃及鄰居及住在鄰居家的婦女索取金器、銀器和衣服，給自己的兒女穿戴，你們必這樣奪取埃及人的財物。」

說：「你們為什麼讓這些婦女活著？

「眾王和他們的軍隊逃走了，逃走了！」以色列的婦女都在分戰利品。

比珠寶更珍貴；你所喜愛的一切都難以相比。

又遵照摩西的吩咐向埃及人索取金器、銀器和衣服。耶和華使埃及人恩待以色列人，他們要什麼，埃及人就給什麼。這樣，以色列人奪取了埃及人的財富。

然而，靠著愛我們的主，我們在這一切事上已經得勝有餘了。
