今彼若何報我、乃來逐我、出爾所賜為業之地、

See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession you gave us as an inheritance.

See how they are paying us back. They are coming to drive us out. They want to take over the land you gave us as our share.

Now see how they reward us! For they have come to throw us out of your land, which you gave us as an inheritance.

if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,

They repay me evil for good; my soul is bereft.

If anyone returns evil for good, evil will not depart from his house.

So then the Lord, the God of Israel, dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel; and are you to take possession of them?Will you not possess what Chemosh your god gives you to possess? And all that the Lord our God has dispossessed before us, we will possess.

Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for my life. Remember how I stood before you to speak good for them, to turn away your wrath from them.
