“ But now here are men from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, whose territory you would not allow Israel to invade when they came from Egypt; so they turned away from them and did not destroy them.

“ But here are men from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir. You wouldn’t allow Israel to march in and attack their territory when the Israelites came from Egypt. So Israel turned away from them. They didn’t destroy them.

And now behold, the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, and whom they avoided and did not destroy—

“ And now see what the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir are doing. You would not let our ancestors invade those nations when Israel left Egypt, so they went around them and did not destroy them.

Now here are the Ammonites, Moabites, and the inhabitants of Mount Seir. You did not let Israel invade them when Israel came out of the land of Egypt, but Israel turned away from them and did not destroy them.

Now behold, the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, whom You did not allow Israel to invade when they came out of the land of Egypt( for they turned aside from them and did not destroy them),

And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir— whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them—

And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them, and destroyed them not;

Now the Ammonites, Moabites, and men from Mount Seir are coming! When Israel came from the land of Egypt, you did not allow them to invade these lands. They bypassed them and did not destroy them.

Now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned away from them, and didn’t destroy them;

你要吩咐人民說：你們的族弟兄以掃的子孫、那住在西珥的、你們正要經過他們的地界；他們必懼怕你們，所以你們要極其謹慎。不要去惹他們；他們的地、連腳掌可踏的地方、我都不給你們，因為我已將西珥山賜給以掃為基業。

你們走近亞捫人的對面時，可別擾害他們，別去惹他們；亞捫人的地我不賜給你們為業，因為我已將那地賜給羅得的子孫為業。」（

永恆主對我說：「你不可擾害摩押，不可以戰爭去惹他們；他們的地我不賜給你為業，因為我已將亞珥賜給羅得的子孫為業。」（

求你容我們從你的地經過；我們不從田地和葡萄園經過，也不喝井裏的水，我們只走王家大道，不偏向右、也不偏向左，直到你的地界都經過了。』以東對以色列說：『你不可從我這裏經過，免得我帶刀出去對你接戰。』以色列人對他說：『我們要從大路上去；我和我的牲畜若喝你的水，總要給價值；沒有別事，我只要步行過去罷了。』以東說：『你不可經過。』以東就率領重兵出來，要用強硬的手對付以色列。這樣以東既不肯給以色列從他的地界經過，以色列就轉了方向、離開他們。

對他說：『耶弗他這麼說：「以色列並沒有取過摩押地和亞捫人之地呀。以色列人從埃及上來的時候、乃是走過曠野到蘆葦海，來到加低斯；就打發使者去見以東王、說：『請容我從你的地經過』；以東王不聽。他們也打發人去見摩押王，摩押王也不情願；以色列人就住在加低斯。他們又走過曠野，繞着以東地和摩押地，在摩押地的日出方向行，在亞嫩河那邊紮營；他們並沒有進摩押的地界呀，因為亞嫩河不過是摩押的邊界。

此後摩押人和亞捫人來攻擊約沙法；跟隨他們的還有一些米烏尼人。

眾人一開始歡呼頌讚的時候，永恆主就派伏兵擊殺那來攻打猶大人的亞捫人、摩押人和西珥山人；他們就被擊敗了。
