But Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ First, please ask what the Lord’s will is.”

But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel,“ First seek the counsel of the Lord.”

He continued,“ First ask the Lord for advice.”

And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ Inquire first for the word of the Lord.”

Then Jehoshaphat added,“ But first let’s find out what the Lord says.”

But Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ First, please ask what the LORD’s will is.”

However, Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ Please request the word of the Lord first.”

Also Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ Please inquire for the word of the Lord today.”

And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Inquire first, I pray thee, for the word of Jehovah.

And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.

Then Jehoshaphat added,“ First seek an oracle from the LORD.”

Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ Please inquire first for Yahweh’s word.”

“ Son of man, speak with the elders of Israel and tell them: This is what the Lord God says: Are you coming to consult Me? As I live, I will not be consulted by you.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

Once again, David inquired of the Lord, and the Lord answered him:“ Go at once to Keilah, for I will hand the Philistines over to you.”

So David inquired of the Lord:“ Should I launch an attack against these Philistines?” The Lord answered David,“ Launch an attack against the Philistines and rescue Keilah.”

But Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ First, please ask what the Lord’s will is.”So the king of Israel gathered the prophets, about 400 men, and asked them,“ Should I go against Ramoth-gilead for war or should I refrain?” They replied,“ March up, and the Lord will hand it over to the king.”

Some time later, David inquired of the Lord:“ Should I go to one of the towns of Judah?” The Lord answered him,“ Go.” Then David asked,“ Where should I go?”“ To Hebron,” the Lord replied.

“ Ask the Lord on our behalf, since Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is making war against us. Perhaps the Lord will perform for us something like all His past wonderful works so that Nebuchadnezzar will withdraw from us.”

When David learned that Saul was plotting evil against him, he said to Abiathar the priest,“ Bring the ephod.”Then David said,“ Lord God of Israel, Your servant has heard that Saul intends to come to Keilah and destroy the town because of me.Will the citizens of Keilah hand me over to him? Will Saul come down as Your servant has heard? Lord God of Israel, please tell Your servant.” The Lord answered,“ He will come down.”Then David asked,“ Will the citizens of Keilah hand me and my men over to Saul?”“ They will,” the Lord responded.

Say this to the king of Judah who sent you to ask Yahweh,‘ This is what Yahweh, the God of Israel says: As for the words that you heard,

I have asked one thing from the Lord; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the Lord and seeking Him in His temple.

So David inquired of the Lord, and He answered,“ Do not make a frontal assault. Circle around behind them and attack them opposite the balsam trees.

Then David inquired of the Lord:“ Should I go to war against the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The Lord replied to David,“ Go, for I will certainly hand the Philistines over to you.”
