The king of Israel then ordered,“ Take Micaiah and send him back to Amon the ruler of the city and to Joash the king’s son,

Then the king of Israel gave an order. He said,“ Take Micaiah away. Send him back to Amon. Amon is the ruler of the city of Samaria. And send Micaiah back to Joash. Joash is a member of the royal court.

And the king of Israel said,“ Seize Micaiah and take him back to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son,

“ Arrest him!” the king of Israel ordered.“ Take him back to Amon, the governor of the city, and to my son Joash.

官长们大怒，命人鞭打耶利米，把他囚禁在书记约拿单的房子里，因为他们已把这房子改作监牢。耶利米被囚禁在地牢中许多天。后来，西底迦王派人把他带到自己的宫中，私下问他：“耶和华有什么话给你吗？”耶利米说：“有，你要被交在巴比伦王手中。”耶利米又问他：“我在什么事上得罪了你、你的臣仆或人民，以致你们把我囚在监牢中？那些曾向你们预言‘巴比伦王绝不会来这里攻打你们’的先知如今在哪里呢？现在，我主我王啊，请听我说！求你不要把我送回书记约拿单的房子，免得我死在那里。”于是，西底迦王下令把耶利米囚在护卫兵的院子里，派人每天从饼铺取一个饼给他，直到城中绝粮。耶利米就这样住在护卫兵的院子里。

于是，他们拿住耶利米，用绳子把他缒到王子玛基雅的蓄水池里。那池子在护卫兵的院子里，池中没有水，只有淤泥。耶利米就陷在淤泥中。那时，王正坐在便雅悯门口。宫廷侍臣古实人以伯·米勒听说他们把耶利米囚在蓄水池里，

约西亚执政第十八年，洁净国土和圣殿以后，就差遣亚萨利雅的儿子沙番、耶路撒冷的总督玛西雅和约哈斯的儿子约亚史官负责整修他的上帝耶和华的殿。
