Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah went up and slapped Micaiah in the face.“ Which way did the spirit from the Lord go when he went from me to speak to you?” he asked.

Then Zedekiah, the son of Kenaanah, went up and slapped Micaiah in the face. Zedekiah asked Micaiah,“ Do you think the spirit sent by the Lord left me? Do you think that spirit went to speak to you?”

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the cheek and said,“ Which way did the Spirit of the Lord go from me to speak to you?”

Then Zedekiah son of Chenaanah came up, hit Micaiah on the cheek, and demanded,“ Which way did the spirit from the LORD leave me to speak to you?”

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah approached and struck Micaiah on the cheek; and he said,“ How did the Spirit of the Lord pass from me to speak to you?”

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said,“ Which way did the spirit from the Lord go from me to speak to you?”

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of Jehovah from me to speak unto thee?

Then Zedekiah son of Chenaanah came up, hit Micaiah in the face, and demanded,“ Which way did the spirit from the Lord leave me to speak to you?”

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?

Zedekiah son of Kenaanah approached, hit Micaiah on the jaw, and said,“ Which way did the LORD’s spirit go when he went from me to speak to you?”

Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said,“ Which way did Yahweh’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”

So he arrested Jeremiah the prophet and had him whipped and put in stocks at the Benjamin Gate of the Lord’s Temple.

Then some of them began to spit at him, and they blindfolded him and beat him with their fists.“ Prophesy to us,” they jeered. And the guards slapped him as they took him away.

“ The Lord has appointed you to replace Jehoiada as the priest in charge of the house of the Lord. You are responsible to put into stocks and neck irons any crazy man who claims to be a prophet.So why have you done nothing to stop Jeremiah from Anathoth, who pretends to be a prophet among you?

“ So you see, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouths of all your prophets. For the Lord has pronounced your doom.”Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah walked up to Micaiah and slapped him across the face.“ Since when did the Spirit of the Lord leave me to speak to you?” he demanded.And Micaiah replied,“ You will find out soon enough when you are trying to hide in some secret room!”

Then they began to spit in Jesus’ face and beat him with their fists. And some slapped him,jeering,“ Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who hit you that time?”

Then one of the Temple guards standing nearby slapped Jesus across the face.“ Is that the way to answer the high priest?” he demanded.Jesus replied,“ If I said anything wrong, you must prove it. But if I’m speaking the truth, why are you beating me?”

The Sovereign Lord has spoken to me, and I have listened. I have not rebelled or turned away.I offered my back to those who beat me and my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard. I did not hide my face from mockery and spitting.

Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked,“ Are you saying we’re blind?”“ If you were blind, you wouldn’t be guilty,” Jesus replied.“ But you remain guilty because you claim you can see.

One of them, Zedekiah son of Kenaanah, made some iron horns and proclaimed,“ This is what the Lord says: With these horns you will gore the Arameans to death!”

Mobilize! Marshal your troops! The enemy is laying siege to Jerusalem. They will strike Israel’s leader in the face with a rod.

Let them turn the other cheek to those who strike them and accept the insults of their enemies.

Instantly Ananias the high priest commanded those close to Paul to slap him on the mouth.But Paul said to him,“ God will slap you, you corrupt hypocrite! What kind of judge are you to break the law yourself by ordering me struck like that?”
