“ Let there be a treaty between me and you,” he said,“ as there was between my father and your father. See, I am sending you silver and gold. Now break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from me.”

首领便对全体会众说：“我们曾凭以色列的上帝耶和华向他们起誓，我们现在不能动他们。我们要容他们存活，免得我们因违背誓言而惹耶和华发怒。”

他起誓降服，却弃约背誓，所以绝不能逃避后果。因此，主耶和华说，‘我凭我的永恒起誓，他既藐视与我所立的誓言，背弃与我所定的约，我必惩罚他。

那些到埃及寻求帮助的人有祸了！他们仰赖战马，倚靠众多的战车和强壮的骑兵，却不仰望以色列的圣者，不寻求耶和华。然而，耶和华有智慧，会降灾，从不收回自己的话。祂必惩罚恶人之家及其帮凶。埃及人不过是人，并非上帝；埃及的战马是血肉之躯，并非神灵。耶和华一伸手，那些帮凶必踉跄，受帮助的必跌倒，他们必一同灭亡。

摩西对亚伦说：“这些百姓对你做了什么？你竟使他们陷入大罪中！”

愚钝无知、不守信用、无情无义、毫无怜悯。他们明知，按上帝公义的法则，做这些事的人该死，不但执迷不悟，还喜欢别人跟他们同流合污。

你们不可跟这里的居民立约，要毁掉他们的祭坛。’可是你们为什么不听呢？

亚比米勒召见亚伯拉罕，对他说：“你为什么要害我们？我什么地方得罪了你？你竟使我和我的人民陷入大罪！你不该这样做。”又说：“你为什么这样做？”

哈拿尼先见的儿子耶户出来迎接约沙法王，对他说：“你怎能帮助恶人，爱那憎恨耶和华的人呢？你这样做已经惹怒耶和华了。

上帝的殿与偶像怎能相提并论呢？因为我们就是永活上帝的殿，正如上帝说：“我要住在他们中间，在他们当中往来；我要做他们的上帝，他们要做我的子民。”

他鄙视恶人，尊重那些敬畏耶和华的人。他起了誓，即使吃亏也不背誓。

原来基遍人不是以色列人，他们是亚摩利人的遗民。以色列人曾起誓不伤害他们，但扫罗为以色列人和犹大人发热心，试图铲除基遍人。大卫就召来基遍人，

以色列王亚哈对犹大王约沙法说：“你愿意与我一起去攻打基列的拉末吗？”约沙法回答说：“你我不分彼此，我的民就是你的民，我必与你同去。”
