King Asa also deposed his grandmother Maakah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive image for the worship of Asherah. Asa cut it down, broke it up and burned it in the Kidron Valley.

King Asa also removed his grandmother Maakah from her position as queen mother. That’s because she had made a pole used to worship the female god named Asherah. The Lord hated it. So Asa cut it down. He broke it up. He burned it in the Kidron Valley.

Even Maacah, his mother, King Asa removed from being queen mother because she had made a detestable image for Asherah. Asa cut down her image, crushed it, and burned it at the brook Kidron.

And also[ concerning] Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from[ being] queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped[ it], and burnt[ it] at the brook Kidron.

祖母馬迦於林間立偶像、故貶其太后之位、斫其所奉之像、焚於汲淪溪旁。所有崇邱、雖猶不廢、然誠心從耶和華以畢其生、以父所獻、及己所獻之金銀器皿、進於耶和華殿。以色列王巴沙在位之時、與亞撒戰。往攻猶大、建拉馬邑、使民不得歸猶大王亞撒。亞撒以耶和華殿中之府庫、及王宮室所藏之金銀、托其臣僕、遣至大馬色、以饋亞蘭王、希旬孫達哩門子便哈達、曰、爾我之父有約、爾我間亦當有約、我饋爾以金銀、請爾渝以色列王巴沙之盟、俾勿攻我。便哈達從其言、使武士長攻以色列邑、擊以雲、但、亞伯伯馬迦、基尼烈四方、與納大利全境、巴沙聞之、則不建拉馬、惟居得撒。亞撒王降詔、命猶大眾咸至、不遺一人、使取巴沙建拉馬之木石、以建便雅憫之基巴、及密士巴。亞撒事實、及其大力、與所建之城、備載於猶大王紀畧。亞撒年老、其足有疾、既薨、與列祖同葬、在祖大闢之城、其子約沙法繼位。

乃押沙龍女馬迦所出、在耶路撒冷為王、凡歷三年、

必摧其壇、毀其像、斫其偶、

在耶路撒冷為王、歷四十一年、押沙龍女馬迦、乃其祖母、

昔尼八子耶羅破暗、陷以色列族於罪戾、在伯特利立崇坵、築祭壇、約西亞毀其祭壇、廢其崇坵、焚其偶像、擣之成粉。

取耶和華殿所有之亞大綠像、出耶路撒冷外、燬於汲淪溪濱、擣之成粉、揚於民塚。

於是以色列全地、毀祭壇、伐林木、擣偶像成粉、乃歸耶路撒冷。

如有人欲為偽先知、則其父母、必責之曰、爾托耶和華之名而妄言、必不得生、而其父母、必手刃之、

取犢爇以火、擣為粉、揚於水、令以色列族飲之、

摩西曰、以色列之上帝耶和華曰、眾必繫刀於腰、出入營門、殺其兄弟、友朋鄰里。利未族從其言、是日以色列民死亡者、不下三千人。

亞撒行善為義、於其上帝耶和華前、棄異邦上帝之壇、廢崇坵、毀偶像、伐林木。命猶大族、宗事列祖之上帝耶和華、遵其律例、禁令。在猶大諸邑、廢崇坵、毀日像、國享平康。

如爾同母之兄弟、或爾子女、或眷愛之妻、或契合之友、私誘爾曰、宜服事他上帝、然此上帝爾與爾祖所未識者、或四周遠近諸民之上帝、自地極至天涯、爾毋允從、毋聽順、毋姑縱、毋矜恤、毋藏匿、

必摧其壇、毀其像、斫其偶、所雕刻之形、燬之以火、爾之待彼必如是。

猶大列王、曾築祭壇、置於亞哈士樓巔、馬拿西亦築祭壇、置於耶和華殿二院中、皆為王所毀、傾其灰於汲淪溪濱。

此後吾不以貌視人、雖曾以貌視基督、今不復如此視之、

爾素犯罪、以鑄像如犢、我爇之以火、擣之為粉、揚於山溪。

彼告父母曰、我未見之、不識兄弟、不顧子女、乃從爾命、而守爾約。

耶穌之母及兄弟來、立於外、遣人呼之、眾環坐、或謂耶穌曰、爾母及兄弟在外、欲見爾、耶穌曰、何者為我母我兄弟耶、遂顧在座者曰、視我母與兄弟焉、凡遵上帝旨者、即我兄弟姊妹及母也、

親舊聞而至、欲援耶穌止之、語人曰、彼乃狂耳、

爾造日象、築崇邱、我必毀之、棄爾尸骸、以及偶像、共相枕藉、我中心憾爾、

雕刻之像、像上帝者、乃爾上帝耶和華所惡、必燬以火、如其上飾以金銀、爾毋貪毋取、恐陷爾於罪。毋攜可惡之物入室、必憾之絕之、不然、爾必見絕、有類於彼。
